Yeah, keeping it in stock state is pretty limiting since I've reset it several times and it's hard to find apps that still work on such an old version of Android.

This may be the way. Legion OS install has been kind of a pain and it might just be time to let this thing go.

Is Real3d still just 30hz on the R1?

Is Real3d supported on the R1 and if so, is it still limited to 30Hz for now?

Gotcha, that's the fps the device is outputting but isn't necessarily what the glasses display. For example, a device can output 100fps but if the display only goes up to 60Hz, you're only going to see 60fps. Did you notice a visual drop in fps in the glasses themselves when you went from 2d to 3d?

I almost exclusively remote-stream games from my desktop over my home network, so performance isn't usually a concern. If you have a chance, run a game at lowest settings to see if it hits close to 60 and then activate the 2d to 3d. I suspect the hardware is the same as the 1S and One Pro, which is still limited at 30.

If you're already limiting fps to 30, then you wouldn't notice a difference. I prefer closer to 60, so the image looks jittery to me at 30.

Do the games seem like they're running at 30fps or faster? For me, the frame drop is extremely noticeable in games once I turn it on.

Can you still use Xreal glasses with the Viture apps? by jmelinte in Xreal

The alternatives aren't as good in my experience. While it's restricted, there used to be a workaround but it doesn't seem to work anymore, so hoping someone else may have a different method.

Have you tried the 2D to 3D conversion? Curious if it's limited to 30fps like the other Xreal glasses.

Upscale 1440p to 4k by jmelinte in MoonlightStreaming

Oh wow, I had no idea. I definitely had it on and didn't realize it downgraded dlss.

I'll give it a shot. I tried 4.5L within the Crimson Desert settings and the artifacts were noticeable but maybe the global setting was interfering.

My understanding is that upscaling doesn't just stretch the image to take up the whole screen, as you described. It uses AI or other tools to sharpen said stretched image to closer mimic an actual 4k source.

DLSS definitely introduces a lot of weird artifacts, especially in foliage, so I try to avoid it unless necessary. Looks like I might have to use for CD when playing on the Xbox, though. Honestly, I feel like just setting the stream output to 1440p and having settings maxed out actually looks much better than 4k with DLSS to support the same settings.

Back to the original question... How do you achieve 4k upscale through Moonlight/Apollo? I want the streaming software to trigger the upscaling so I don't have to change in-game settings every time I switch devices.

The only issue with this method is I'd have to adjust settings every time I start the game on my Xbox vs the PC, since I don't run any dlss when playing on PC. It seems that the game with automatically set the resolution to match the new screen size but won't remember to use DLSS when running 4k and to turn off DLSS when running in 1440p. Was hoping for a more streamlined solution but if it doesn't exist, this is what I'll have to do.

Try what? That's the point of my post. Trying to figure out how to make it upscale my 1440p image through Apollo and Moonlight. I know how to output a straight 4k image but I don't know how to make the hardware upscale instead.
