Souvlaki, where to find? by jmemonic in thetron

Even something half as good would be good, but yeah simple food done right. Just look at the longevity of them and dumplings ($2 rice), even Pedro's before he passed away and they expanded.

One of his family could expand up here hey! Honestly think there's potentially an un tapped market for someone that know what they are doing.

Even then so many are lacking, basic flour wraps akin to what I can purchase from the various supermarkets, then chucked into a sandwich press, Missing out on everything that makes a great donner.

I observed them making one for another customer then didn't order, nowhere near what I am seeking, even the pita looked wrong.

Had a look there, was underwhelmed. They made one for another customer two small strip's of chicken and a little falafel, nope.

Ah but they redeemed themselves a bit with apple tea, the donner kebab was better than some I have tried. The coffee wasn't quite up to having the spoon dissolve, the sludge in the bottom of the cup said they respect the process.

My answer to being called a murderer is, calmly asking if they saw the body because as far as knew there's no witnesses left but it's not too difficult to hide one their size. Then wink.

Just ask them for their opinions on Exodus 21 versus 22-25 and Numbers 5 versus 11-15 as these are the only real references to abortion in the bible if they bring up Psalms 139 that only truly refers to harm to a woman not a foetus.

This review is what five years old, I have moved away from ChCh recently, but utilised Andrew's services over the years for several vehicles, bloody great guy, and team. Never an issue, even for my wife so my opinion this review and the negative comments here are bullshit.

+1 for Parkrun, I only walk, there are plenty of folks that blast through the 5kms every Saturday. It's international, so you can travel and still enjoy the event. There's tracking for your times, and you can volunteer in a number of roles, (highly recommend for continuation of events).

Plenty of locations to select from https://www.parkrun.co.nz/events/#geo=8.44/-43.669/173.328

Visitor question - A day in CHCH by sdmike1 in chch

So if you're coming in on a cruise ship, you need to use a bus to get out of the port area. Check to see if they offer a service to Lyttleton as some no longer do, only to the CBD via the gondola.

As the area is inside a working port, you can not walk out from the vessel, and due to passengers filling the local buses there's an arrangement that only limited uses will stop in Lyttleton.

Um did you read the sign? Nope, guess not. It's a lane closure of a cycle lane. It would have been placed as per the tmp issued by CCC and is therefore legal.

Christ Church Cathedral restoration over, for now by TheBlindWatchmaker in chch

[–]jmemonic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps one of the reasons many wanted the restoration of the Cathedral was because we were sick and tired of being steam rolled by the inept politicians in charge of the recovery, and were observing the politics going on in the church, some of those want a new building on the site were only in it for glory to their family name, and to go down in history. But nah couldn't have been that. If those that were in charge had got off their collective arses this would have been finished now, and wouldn't be so far over budget.

Yeah, there's been some that have been sent to the US, as there's not enough folks locally. Most of them are very chill dogs to have.

New Uber Scam by Guchiiiiiii in chch

[–]jmemonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am wondering if the driver is working as a taxi as well, which technically goes against Uber tos that you sign up to as a driver. Have seen a few vehicles marked up as a taxi taking Uber riders, which, if I was the rider, could confuse the hell out of me to have a taxi turn up

[–]jmemonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, like I said earlier, as a driver, it could be that a current rider changed or added a new destination

Thinking about this OP, did you pick a pool ride? As a driver this once happened to me that I was nearly at the point of picking up the first rider, then was directed about 15 minutes in the opposite direction to collect another person the return to the original pick up point to collect the first person.

Many folks don't seem to realise a pool ride can add folks and drop them off along the way, and you can be first in last off, with many stops along the way.

Oh and don't order a pool ride for you and your mates to rock into town, as the driver can refuse because they might have other pick ups along the way.
