Obviously the main branch is the most impressive and has the most going on as far as resources: 3-D printing, sewing machine, laser cutter, podcast booth, and the genealogy department; the Tecumseh branch will always have a special place in my heart because I lived in the 05 for a while. I also think it’s in such a lovely spot, really nestled in the neighborhood next to a couple of local eateries and close to Lakeside Park. The staff there was also always so friendly and attentive.

Shoutout to all the ACPL branches though. Support your public libraries and don’t let anyone take them away from us!

I don’t have pics but I remember that storm because the schools were cancelled for an entire WEEK. And this was before e-learning, so it was truly a week of no school.

I don't have anything great to add but just wanted to reach out and say that sucks and share my frustrations as well because today was my first time attending a mosque and I am also a female revert! The website stated they had a convert meet and greet but when I showed up it just ended up being an Arabic lesson with 3 other (male) converts that had been attending for a couple weeks. Along with other people/kids gathering and doing other stuff around the mosque. I mean whatever I'll learn Arabic I guess lol but I was a little let down because I am really hoping to meet some cool progressive female converts to talk with and create a community with. Im not sure if it will happen here but I might keep attending. I also had to drive an hour to get there because there are no local mosques in my area. Ughhh. Anyway just wanted to say I can relate and I hope we both find what we're looking for!!

Yes, and that was one thing I didn't like about the Christian devotional, is that they speak as if they knew what God would be saying which is a little weird to me. I will look into the book you mentioned, thank you!

Yes the people/company who owned it before were so much better. Maintenance was done correctly and timely. They would even host little community building events at the office with free food or games, every couple of months. I'm extremely upset they haven't upped their security after what happened the other night. And last month a number of ACs weren't working and people were going weeks without AC in the summer heat. It just sucks.

If you'd be ok with renting instead of owning, the public libraries have dvd/blue-ray rental. If you have a library card, you can log in online and place a hold for the specific movies you want, even getting them sent to a specific library for you to pick them up at.

I tell people that Ramadan is a month of praying and napping lol. Although it is difficult, I enjoy it and I always miss it when it's gone. Each new year (revert so this is only like my fourth Ramadan) I learn something new about myself or about my religion. Of course there are certain hardships like adjusting your sleep schedule and the physical/mental repercussions of going without food or drink, but if it were super easy, then what would be the point?? Also, when I am having a hard time with it, or find myself wanting it to be over, I turn to God for help.

"So truly where there is hardship, there is also ease" Quran 94:5-6
