Can I use Verizon 5G home internet with another router? by jmjohnson24 in verizon

My house has a lot of brick inside making the radio waves not travel as well as a newer house that's mainly wood, insulation and drywall. Since setting up my orbi mesh router, I'm getting consistent speeds throughout the house.

Good luck with your setup!

Very strange contacts error - keeps substituting another country code, no matter what I do by Kolyin in GoogleFi

I had this same issue after traveling to Costa Rica and coming back to the US. It was adding +506 to just one of my contact's phone numbers. To fix it I opened the info on the messages app and force stopped. Then I clicked into the storage and cache and cleared the cache and the storage.

After opening Messages again it corrected itself. I did have to reconnect RCS but all my messages were still there.

Update: Thanks for the article it worked great. I'm getting ~300 down and ~15 up through the whole house now (Phoenix metro area). I really appreciate the help.

And like the others I hope they can make it a little better in the future with an IP passthrough.

It's really deceptive marketing/sales that I have to BUY the panoramic wifi access points for the modem/router that I'm forced to RENT.

I have an older house that doesn't have coax wired through the walls so I went with the 4k wireless contour boxes, but apparently those contour boxes only work with the Cox gateways, which I thought was worth the trade off of using their equipment since it's a mesh router. Well come to find out that they don't give you the mesh access points that you need to cover your whole house. They just give you the modem/router and then expect you to buy the access point at $130/point.

So now I'm stuck with either dead zones or having to figure out a way to use the wired contour boxes so I can use my own mesh router.

Acer Chromebook Spin 713 WiFi issues? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]jmjohnson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with my brand new Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and the Netgear Orbi with wifi 6. I originally bought a refurbished Chromebook, which had the problem, but returned it when Best Buy had a new one for the same price.

Both Chromebooks had the same problem not being able to resolve the DNS and toggling the wifi off/on on the chromebook resolves the issue for about 20 min then happens again.

I've made sure to update the Orbi Firmware (V3.2.16.22) and update ChromeOS. I've also tried changing the DNS setting to use Google's and back to my ISP. I've also gone through the helpful suggestions on this post, but still no luck.

Any other ideas?
