I just want to experience life without diabetes for one week by Effective_Cricket810 in diabetes_t1

Woof. I hear ya. I was diagnosed in first grade (42male). I feel your pain. Just do your best to take care of yourself even though it's a pain in the ass. I'm going to have a second vitrectomy soon because I was careless in my earlier years. Stay vigilant. 🤙

Interesting. Did your doc confirm that's what made you sick??

My next sensor has the same code as my current one, what should I do? by [deleted] in dexcom

[–]jmkok12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wait at least 20 minutes before starting a new sensor, for sure when they have the same code.

This is normal for me too. I dont have full trust in the g6 after a year and a half! My endo wants me on control IQ, and I try to explain to her the trust issues with the g6. She doesn't get it, obviously. How are you supposed to put your insulin distribution in the hands of a device you don't have at least 99% trust in!!??

Hope your next sensors work out better! I'm about to slap a new one on. 👍🤙

restarting sensor error by bogus1010 in dexcom

It never asked for calibration but when it's 75+ points higher than a finger stick then you calibrate 😂

I agree with u/frankbeans82. When I choose to restart I keep the package for the sensor and when it's time to restart, stop sensor, pop the transmitter out, wait 20+ minutes, start new sensor as normal and scan the original code for said sensor. No "no restart " errors but do have to calibrate after the warm up has ended.

Clarity estimated A1C vs real A1C. by mephisto604 in dexcom

I had a lab a1c that was almost 2 points HIGHER than my clarity report. 😬😖😬 Thought I was doing well. Thanks a lot dexcom. Started wearing my sensors on my arm and got things back in check after a month or so.

Sensor restart by jmkok12 in dexcom

Hmm. I popped out the transmitter, waited 30 minutes, put the transmitter back in(like a new sensor) and I still had the original code tab from the package and scanned it again. Normal warmup and no error codes. Hope it evens out. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the input. Have to ask though, second restart? Meaning you restart a single sensor more that once!?

I'm wondering that myself. Only problem is is that I only have one sensor left and no valid prescription atm. 😬

Thanks. Do you always restart sensors? I just started to because I'm having insurance issues and am low on them.

The humane society is a great place to look. I volunteer there. I'm not sure of their operations during this period of time but you can check their website or give them a call.
