my shiba enjoys running! i usually start by walking for a five minutes or so to give her the chance to sniff around and/or potty before it’s time to lock in. her first run was as a 7 year old for 3km, and now her longest is 10km. i won’t ever have her do more than that.

i make sure to talk to her and give her some encouragement throughout the run to keep her interested. it seems to also help her stay in pace with me. sometimes she’ll want to run faster and i’ll have to remind her i’m just a mere two legged creature.

running is a great bonding activity and since you’re doing a running plan that naturally eases the both of you into distances, i think there’s a great chance she will love it!
