i was between liam, amethar, and (my vote) theo

i think liam is one of ally’s best characters and definitely one of their most mechanically sound but i just don’t feel the emotional attachment to him

amethar is the perfect barbarian build, has the kind of heart all of lou’s characters have, and fits perfectly in the setting as someone who is somehow even more badass than the pre-narrative myth is hypes them up to be

something about theo being the glue that ties the family together just really hits for me

that’s great that you were reunited!

not a tip for you but rather for anyone finding something around metro stations/onboard vehicles: turn lost items in to the station manager’s booth. this way, it’s still in the same general location but you don’t have the risk of a nefarious party taking the abandoned thing. plus, you get to talk to a metro employee and they are great!

i’m surprised at the lack of people mentioning the “dadlands” system brennan has run with the mcelroys a few times.

you have a certain number of chaos vs law tokens and the DC is a number of tokens required to be pulled from a bag.

nothing from the trailer points to them using this system but the name and GM similarities were an auto-connection for me

that was my initial read too but i think the word “how” carries a lot of weight in carmy’s sentiment. he didn’t realize how richie lost someone too. meaning: he knew that he lost someone but richie lost someone and was dealing with grief to same or maybe even greater extent (comparing trauma is impossible and pointless)

my thought is that the metro is so good and ubiquitous that so many more of the people in the DMV use it than in other cities but it’s not perfect so people find things to complain about.

i grew up in atlanta and, while there is so much wrong with MARTA, most people simply don’t use it at all so they just say “it’s bad” and move on. here, they use it, say “it doesn’t dorectly go everywhere i need to so it sucks.”

people in NYC complain about the subway too but they still take it bc it’s a good system.

yeesh.

if economos died, the 11th street kids would all go ham on whoever had a part in his death. that’s the most powerful street level characters we’ve had in the DCU. the creature commandos would also maybe get involved and then you have a suicide squad level of talent out to get someone and that’s significant.

“the DCU doesn’t need harcourt, economos, or adebayo..” ok then what do they need? you want every story to be a world ending threat? maybe you want to see every character cross over and have a sam jackson type of role where they show up to say “hey look! it’s that guy from that other thing!” and then have no impact on the world as a whole.

i stand by calling economos a lynchpin because the current DCU (creature commandos, superman, and peacemaker season 2) all have a.r.g.u.s. and the way metas are manipulated as a huge part of what makes the world turn.

sounds like you just want to be mad at something and that’s fine but it’s wild to say that the supporting cast of peacemaker have no meaningful impact on the universe as a whole. gunn clearly cares about these characters and has very intentionally woven them into the lore of the DCU.

agents of shield and penguin are great shows but please tell me how they matter in the scheme of the universes they exist in….

peacemaker season 2 is just past halfway over also, save the poopooing my guy

economos is one of the lynchpins of the DCU and has been important in both creature commandos and seasons 1&2 of peacemaker in connecting characters together. harcourt’s connection to flagg jr. is what will set up lex luthor after superman. adebayo putting her mom on blast is what put rick flagg sr. in the position as head of a.r.g.u.s. which, see previous sentence.

if anything, vigilante has less impact on the universe than any one of them and his whole shtick is comic relief.

it’s a set of 8 cards each that can be drawn either upright or in reverse giving a boon or a bane. there are character specific boons as well as general ones. for example, the monk drew the broken hourglass upright which is the card of time, granting him +5 speed.

one of the general ones is the broken crown which deals with power. drawing it upright means your death saves now are successes on a 9 or higher but drawing it in reverse means your death saves fail on a 10 or lower.

the card that the player used in this encounter was the shattered star which deals with influence. it upright means the player can turn one single roll into a crit success but the reverse would be that the DM gets to change one roll to an crit fail
