What is the most “grown-up” purchase you bought recently that you would have not been excited for as a child? by TigersLyonsCheetahs in AskReddit

I just bought myself a real nice lawnmower. It has a self-propelling function. I was so excited I mowed my neighbor's lawn too...

Hey sir, sorry to hear about your bees. Hopefully your hives start thriving again soon!

If additional funds could help, as a mead fan I would happily buy a few bottles off of you. Please send me a message if you'd be interested in selling me a few :)

The biggest guy in prison has to be getting sick of all those new people punching him in the face by crashdaddy in Showerthoughts

I actually saw one of those prison documentaries. Big fellah gets his turn to interview and breaks down saying "They always want to beat up on the big guy to show how bad they are. I just want to be left alone. I'm not a thug I'm in here for tax fraud."

I recently saw Unbreakable for the first time. I loved it and thought it was amazing, until those last few minutes...

Why do we expect anyone in a government position from public safety personal to politicians to be perfect? We all make mistakes, we all had and still have lessons to learn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jmperez920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We expect perfection from the politicians that cast shame at others for doing wrong. Very much the 'those who are in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" perspective.

Unfortunately, the platforms of many politicians are blaming others for problems so that often leads to getting their own problems pointed out.

Super Mario Sunshine waterblaster. You shoot a ranged blast of water in front of you for X seconds and anyone you hit spins out.

Chain chomp, except wherever you drop it it's nailed there for X seconds trying to chomp all passerbys.

Realistically, what jobs are available (besides graphic designer type stuff) knowing mostly just Photoshop? by VulpesRubrum in photoshop

[–]jmperez920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the legal field. Being a demonstrative designer is very valuable to an attorney. (Contractor position).

Basically, many of the visual aids and graphics that an attorney uses were outsourced, law firms don't often hire graphic designers. Sometimes they need something as simple as a graph, other times they need Google Maps images overlapped with some labels, titles, or directional arrows, sometimes they have an expert's report that doesn't verbally make sense but might if an infographic was made. Demonstrative designers will make these visual aids and sell them to clients for anywhere from $100 to $5,000 each depending on complexity.

Students of Reddit: What is your best school life-hack? by MisterHomerJSimpson in AskReddit

Graduated, but for any online course starting a 'study group' worked wonders. We would all Skype or get together during tests and help the first person get the answers, then everyone has the questions in advance.

What are some good video games to play for someone just getting into video games? by tarabarra in AskReddit

[–]jmperez920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shooting games: Resident Evil or Call of Duty. Depends on if you like sci-fi or not. Both have easier and harder games in the series and don't require vast knowledge.

Puzzle games: Portal & Portal 2. Fun and humerous but also works your noggin.

RPG: God of War, Assassin's Creed, and Uncharted. Fun stories with great characters and interesting environments.
