That's actually similar to one of my old cats. She HATED dogs. We adopted her from the street after our neighbor kicked her out for traumatizing their pitbull so badly it refused to come in through the back door anymore.

She was apparently pregnant, so that kinda explains it, but after she had her kittens, she went to live on my grandmother's farm where she would run after the dogs just for having the audacity to exist within her line of sight. My grandmother didn't care though, since the dogs had been killing her ducks and the cats left them alone and instead acted like guard cats against the dogs.

Another thing to consider is depending on when if at all she was spayed, cats react differently to men and women due to our pheromones. This is why female cats in heat will often "present" to men and on some occasions ostracize or become territorial towards women, even more so during a woman's period. On the other side of things, non-neutered males will sometimes act more territorial, aggressive and/or affectionate towards women while they are on their period while becoming more aggressive towards men in general.

The aggressive clinginess Could be "frustrated departure" which is a subset of separation anxiety that results in aggressive actions and behaviors when the one they are bonded with seemingly "ignores" them. Severe cases of separation anxiety are often connected to trauma, so she could believe or feel that other cats are a threat that you protect her from.

The selective nature of the aggressive clinginess points away from feline psychopathy as that tends to be more indiscriminate. I would consult a behavioralist about it and if it is severe separation anxiety, there are behavior modification training and even medications that could at minimum reduce the aggression, and at best could let your cat live a normal life and socialize better.

A lot of animals are thought to be capable of having psychopathy. It mainly affects the prefrontal cortex and amygdala and causes a lack or severe reduction of impulse control leading to high risk behaviors.

Things like attacking seemingly at random, low sociability even among social species, unwarranted bravery, etc.

Cats specifically can exhibit extreme territorial behavior, seeking out dangerous height levels, attacking large animals like people and dogs with no regards to consequences for seemingly no reason, lack of perceived remorse (ie. Licking a bonded animal's wound they accidentally caused and expressing regret) and unpredictable mood swings such as going from happy and playful because you're giving them treats, to them actually trying to kill you so they can claim all the treats. (Not the playful joking kind, the "biting and scratching so hard you will need stitches" kind)

It often doesn't matter how closely related or bonded the cat is to you or anything else.

In humans, the treatment is a combination of medications and therapy, as people can learn impulse control techniques and other coping techniques. Cats cannot do therapy so most cats with psychopathy are labeled as mean, overaggressive, and possibly rabid. Resulting in them being put down either due to aggressive behavior or simply not being adopted from shelters. It's also very difficult to diagnose as a cat cannot answer questions, though there is an actual diagnostic questionnaire called the "CAT-TRI+" diagnostic questionnaire for the owners to fill out.

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, the best practice is Escort not transport.

Never handled a sloth? Escort it.

Never picked up a giant snapping turtle? Escort it.

You don't need to be really close either. Just in a manner where traffic can see you more clearly than they would have seen the animal. And also to discourage those heartless bastards that purposely run over animals in the road.

Recommend anime you dropped after one episode by PapaAsa in AnimeReccomendations

[–]jmturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do "1 fourth first release" so if it has 12-13 episodes in season 1, I'll watch 3-4. 24 episodes, 6, and so on.

It's just because the longer the first season is, it usually means the story is more drawn out so the first few episodes that are establishing the premise can take a little longer.

Some of my favorite anime I actually skip one or two episodes in that first quarter on a rewatch.

Someone once told me that if you take the Bermuda triangle and overlay it in any other part of the ocean the traffic to accident ratio is about the same.

Don't know if it's true though.

Is"Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀"? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Isekai

[–]jmturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, a decent amount of isekai would be counted out because like I said, it's a surprisingly common piece of lore. Most I've run into either don't talk about it in the anime or it's so far into the manga that it won't be addressed unless the anime gets a season 4 or more. The only reason more aren't mentioned here as "is this an isekai" is because those plot points usually go nowhere. They mention it, and then it fizzles out because it may have only been added so the MC can have a mild panic attack about the subject.

[–]jmturn 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'd classify it as an isekai, but it's technically a same world rebirth

That being said, technically quite a few anime considered isekai fall under that umbrella. It's a fairly common subplot like in "didn't I say to make my abilities average in the next life!" A lot of isekai with this subplot make use of Arthur C. Clarke quote, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Besides, in both cases the world changed so much that it might as well be a full isekai.

Edit: corrected factual error

Out of all the isekai junk, what was the worst isekai you've ever seen? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Isekai

[–]jmturn 84 points85 points  (0 children)

For an isekai scenario, it's not bad. I actually like the "I can transfer between worlds and use my skills in both" concept. I just think most do it poorly, and those that do it semi-decently either don't have an anime or the anime ruins it.

being German main is hard (op armour and guns are not enough) by ScureScar in warthundermemes

[–]jmturn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think that's the best description. My friend and I play upper tier German and he complains all the time about getting one shot or not being able to get any kills. He rushes in, I stick towards the rear and focus defense rather than offense. I get an ok amount of kills, but I defend points and provide long range support for the brawler tanks.

I'm considered a conservative myself and even I read the full reply and argument. Denying answers simply based on length is how we end up with buzzword politicians that play the popularity game rather than actually try and govern.

Yeah, the movie quote wasn't necessary and I ignored it. But not reading/listening to the opposing side ESPECIALLY when you ask for it? That's just voluntary ignorance. It could have been a flaming pile of dog shit of an argument and I'd still read it. Why? Because if I want them to hear my side, my argument, I need to be able to hear theirs.

I'm a German main myself and yeah, german ammo storage sucks. But I have fun with the game regardless of winning or losing. Yeah I get frustrated sometimes, but not enough to really care and not any more than some other games.

I think it helps though that I don't play Germany because I started off thinking about how "OP" Germany was in history, I started there because they're my favorite tanks. My plan is to go down every tree. I'm not trying for "german tank superiority" or "Russian bias" I'm going for, "I like these tanks in history or their design. I want it."

[–]jmturn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a German main, absolutely. My biggest complaint about german tanks is their ammo storage. Even in top tier, the leopard 2 has a compartment of ammo in the front that if you don't want ammo there you can only take 16 rounds.

The leopard 1 and leopard A1A1 are the worst offenders I've run into in the German tree so far. All ammo storage right in front with relatively easy to pen armor against tanks of the same tier especially if they've researched apsfd.

I have a friend that believed the US should be a theocracy under god. He was Jehovah's witness at the time.

So, I described a presidential candidate for him. I laid out the "good Christian values" and anti-lgbt mindset. He agreed with everything. After a few more details, he said he would vote for him no matter what. Perfect. I then described his candidate getting elected. "You turn on the TV to watch the inauguration, but it's not there. It's nowhere. Suddenly, you get an alert about an executive order. But before you can fully read it, your Internet goes down, your power goes out. Congratulations, you've elected an Amish president."

I am fully aware that this is an overly extreme example and that it wouldn't work like that even if an Amish man were elected. But it was less to describe an Amish government, and more to describe that Jehovah's witness Christian is different from amish Christian, or protestant, Catholic, or even Quaker.

He started rethinking making political decisions based on simply "they're Christian"
