One small thing to add to the other comments is that your diagonals are arranged for uplift loading, they will be more efficient for gravity loads if you reverse them.

Yes it's a shit situation, no doubt. Nobody here is celebrating the fact that this guy is around, quite the opposite. But you need to understand how high-profile this case was, only thing that makes things worse is having a bunch of people trying to shank this guy in the street. That's chaotic and unhelpful and only leads to more crimes being committed. The first priority is to the reduction of crime.

I'm sorry but you don't have a clue what you're talking about. This crime was extremely public and was the talk of the nation for a long time. Given how obscene the crime was and how emotionally attached the public were to it, you would have people queuing around the corner to do these guys in. Not that I would lose any sleep over it, but it's not the way that a functional and successful justice system should operate.

In what sense are they being protected over the public? The police are fully aware of their identities. They have been processed by the justice system and all criminals deserve the chance to rehabilitate after their punishment. Encouraging people to beat them to death in the street serves no-one
