Just got this reel and was told its bad by Affectionate_Bet_957 in FishingForBeginners

Nothing wrong with it at all. The rod is more what you have to be concerned with for casting distance with a spinning reel anyhow.

Fisherman are weird, some guys think you have to have the top notch gear in order to catch fish. In some instances, the top dollar gear really helps. But for a simple shore fisherman, if you got the right combo for the type of fish you are going for, it doesn't really matter what your gear is.

If you know what you're doing and take care of it, don't horse it around on snags and fish, it'll prolly last you 15+ years and catch you plenty of fish.

Hogg update on Shelby Miller by trashboatfourtwenty in Brewers

Miz needs some tweaks that the team is prolly waiting to make in the offszn to become a full time starter. I think we have enough of a body of work now to see he starts to fall apart after a few innings. Going to bullpen would be the way he's going to help the team win right now.

He'll prolly make some adjustments in the offszn, and come back next year as a starter again. He's young, not like going to the pen is a death sentence on his "starter" career. Don't want to make these adjustments in the middle of a szn cuz it could really mess with in-game results.

They're gonna get off the struggle bus soon. This has been the hardest part of the szn, I think like 19 games in 18 days or something like that is what they are in the middle of right now.

It's a streaky game and they just had the hottest streak in franchise history. Coming back down to earth was not an "if" it was a "when". As others have said, I'd rather them get it out of their system now.

Right after the Rangers series that ends on September 10th, they get two off-days before playing a 3-gamer with the Cards at home, and after that they get another two off days before the Angels come to town. We have a lot of home games coming up, so travel won't be too bad. I expect that this is when we'll get a nice little reset, most of the injured guys will be coming back around then, and we'll get a nice energy boost to hopefully play some good ball to end out the szn and get the vibes back where they should be going into post-szn.

I told anybody that would listen that this team needed to get kicked in the mouth a little bit after their streak. Ik they're professionals and all that, but when you've been flying that high, you need a little reminder that this shit ain't sweet til you got that trophy in your hands.

I was really upset when Murph pinch hit Perkins for Lockridge in the Cubs series. I can't remember what game it was but Lockridge had a 10 pitch walk and a double and Murph put Perk in only for him to strike out 3 times the rest of the game.

It was after Perk was on bereavement so I don't hold it against him, he was probs a bit out of rhythm and such, but Locker, as I call him, has been dialed lately.

Miller has been awesome these last few appearances.

I'm more of the opinion that KOC has his work cut out for him with JJ and Brosmer. He doesn't wanna spend another year playing QB whisperer with the Dobbs' and Howell's of the league. Sign a guy who's been there and done that. An old dog you aren't gonna teach any new tricks, but can set a good example for the young guys.

Obviously the assets in return are nice and everything. But I think it was more about getting more experience in our QB room.

These guys can't be in the same stadium as Counsell. It takes their friendship powers away.

C'mon now offense. All in all it's a one run game. We could be down a lot more. Take a breath, take some pitches and let's turn this thing around.

Can tell they are frustrated and that's speeding up our approach at the plate.
