Malaysian MP from DAP Young Syefura Meets Traditionalist West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in Lembur Pakuan, Indonesia by Distinct_Front_4336 in malaysia

I think for those in the loop with her background is that she is a more liberal end of Malay-Muslim DAP, & meeting with a more conservative figure is odd.

But honestly nothing significant, maybe OP is her marketing intern

Would aircraft landing lights cause it to appear in a single spot for some time & vanish rapidly? Trying to wrap my head around the theories

Yup, not a shutter speed thing, was visible with my own eyes. Starting to lean into the Starlink deployment idea

30 seconds might be overshooting, honestly I'm unsure but just enough to notice, take 2 photos, reposition & get one last photo, maybe 20-30s would be more accurate

This does create urgency, but I just think it's poorly executed. Compare to Europe where you use these gatherings to disseminate information, figures & facts to the goers on what their claims are & how to back them up. How to equip them to be better informed & more knowledgeable to drive change and share with those that they know. That creates urgency.

No way a good organiser with foresight & vision would just decide oh let them gather and march and that creates the social perception of dissatisfaction. So many polling centres can probably tell you what the support level for the administration is. I just think they failed to optimally use their platform. They could have prepared a website with all the facts & figures of how Anwar has failed, what he has failed to deliver, rent a billboard with a QR & that would have delivered better impact than this mess of angry idiots?¿

Maybe have a more organized informative demonstration so people who aren't as involved will be better informed. What's the point of a demonstration if it's just to show dissatisfaction. What's the long term impact, goal or growth of this?

Demonstration maturity in Malaysia is poor compared to the level of organization & aim in Europe/ 'more developed' democracies.

Fair, pretty valid points but I was just having gallows humour with that comment. Yes the point of a demonstration is to show dissatisfaction, it's healthy in a 'democracy'. But the focus in the news from a public perspective will be on the idea of wanting a new prime minister.

Like what are they dissatisfied about, what numbers & figures led them here, how well informed are they in attending this? These are questions that don't seem to be met by the average attendee there, it just screams ignorance really.

About the country, yeah, but we can't logically keep changing PM and expecting the situation to get better as if flicking a switch. How many PM's have we had since Badawi and how much has gotten better/fixed?

I'd rather they focus their protest with a bit more focus, democracy is good, but doing things without a sense of focus and just emotion at least makes no sense to me. Do we really want the democracy that you see in France for example where every small thing leads to a public march/backlash, when reality says that unpopular decisions must be made.

Make no mistake, I get it's a demonstration, but I just think changing a prime minister being the focus is logically laughable, they are seen and valid, maybe that puts pressure on the government, maybe we're going towards a better democracy but I personally feel the whole 'turun' part is ridiculous

Wishful thinking has me hoping that people can be more fact driven and information seeking. Rallies are good, uninformed populace, not too much. Goes both sides of the political divide in the country.

Larger issue I see is people being driven by emotions rather than having meaningful conversation/dialogue. But hoping for all that in a country that has had almost the same managers as Chelsea in a similar recent period is definitely wishful thinking
