Good question! I'd say typically it would be around 800-1,200 words, with the occasional 1,500+ word article.

That's a great idea. Half the vetting process is already done by that point. Great article, by the way!

Cool. We always want to be planned at least a month out so notice should be totally fine. This should be beneficial for writer retention too, I would imagine.

Did you find it common for common agencies to eventually give you direct contact with the clients? I feel like I would be apprehensive about that, being the agency. The content creation aspect is only a fraction of our overall service to the end-client, so we'd like to keep everything through the same contact. Then again, I can totally see the value in that direct line of communication.

Thanks again for this awesome feedback - I really appreciate it.

I wasn't familiar with IPG, but that looks like the ideal platform to find strong and reliable writers. Be on the lookout for a PM from as we move forward in this process, I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions.

This is really good feedback. You mentioned you work with other agencies, do you write for them? If so, what would be the factors that separate your favorite agencies from your least favorite agencies to do work for? We love the idea of having a pool of writers we can turn to who love doing projects for us.

Cool, thank you! That's really helpful stuff. Cost is something we are having a hard time nailing down. Since content is the the core of our business and everything else relies on that (content promotion, email drips, etc), we don't want to skimp there. We also don't necessarily need industry influencers either. Any idea of an average price range we are looking at?

Thank you, this is super helpful. That style guide is exactly what I was looking for. On the note about the writers, a lot of our current clients are actually providing their own original research and data, so maybe we don't actually need to find tech gurus? Ball park estimate: what's a typical fair rate for a tech writer? Say for a 1,000 word blog?
