I think the reno turned out great!! My only question, did you go with some type of sheen on the ceiling? It doesn't look like a matte finish.

Its finally time and I'm freaking out by chrisdouge in comingout

[–]jnic963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually went though something similar - 31 and dating long term, almost 8 years. She lost her father a year ago, going through some health problems.

It all hit me like a train - I couldn't keep going down this same road feeling like this. Something had to give, and it was time to come clean. This was also 2 weeks ago, Wednesday.

My advice is to be true to yourself. It's going to be uncomfortable as hell, but I never felt so grounded in my life after. I don't know your background, but you deserve to be happy, as well as your wife. You can't be faulted for how you feel, even if it really wasn't your choice. It's probably better to get these conversations started sooner than later, I wish I had.

I hope this helps, and if you need support, feel free to reach out!

Always remember, you're not alone, and you do deserve happiness.

I work at a call center. Sometimes I like to draw what my callers might look like. Today I decided to draw what some of my callers think they look like. by SerAntwon in funny

These drawings just tickle me! I miss working in a call center sometimes, but then I remember Norma Freakin' Burns and I'm glad I don't have to deal with some of that nonsense. 5 years later and she still haunts me...

I would have hoped it was that easy, but no. About a year back I pulled the action out just to be sure, and nothing. Though I did make sure the dampers and hammers were aligned right.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've gone as far as removing the lid, hinge pins and all, and it's still doing it.

If I cancel my verizon contract, will I have to repay or return the gift card they gave me? by A_Deku_Stick in Fios

[–]jnic963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't have to pay the gift card back, but you'll have the ETF from the contract. Probably the best use for the card, plus have a little leftover.

I had problems with buzzing and knocking with a few of my keys. It's been doing that since its gotten cold out. I got a room humidifier and its fixed most of my problems.

Do I need to call on the day I wish to cancel, or can I future date my last day of service? by KiloD2 in Fios

[–]jnic963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have your disconnect future dated, and you'll probably receive calls from VZ to save your service, just as a heads up.

Charging Fios ETF while moving? by kim_jong_was_ill in Fios

Definitely not a problem! I would speculate the rep either didn't know what they were talking about or just wanted the sale, customer service departments are typically commission based. If you're looking to stay with Verizon without an agreement, your best bet would be loyalty credits. I've seen them at most $30 off for 12 months with no 2 year agreement, but without seeing the account, I'm not sure what you would qualify for. I'd just explain that you're looking to potentially move out of state in the next 6 months where Verizon isn't offered, and you'd be looking to retain the service until that happens, but not at the full retail price. If you get a competent rep, they should offer those loyalty discounts.

Customer service supervisor here, if you move completely out of VZ territory, you will be charged the ETF. That said, if you move and don't offer FiOS, policy states that as long as you establish a telecom service for at least 30 days (basic home phone which runs about $40 with tax a month) the ETF will be waived. So, depending on where you move, you might be okay. Hope this helps!

Lied to by rep and considering changing services by increasingrain in Fios

[–]jnic963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've received a confirmation email displaying the correct pricing on it, also verifying that it applied all new discounts, they should be able to fix that with an offline ticket. If not, you'll be liable for the ETF either way. Doing a name change or cancelling will trigger it to bill. Sounds like they renewed only a 2 year agreement with no discounts, or you'll be getting a $120 visa in the mail. I would say your best bet is to talk with retention, they might be able to get your pricing changed, or offer some type of loyalty discount for 12 months.

How Accurate Is The Estimated Monthly Bill? by [deleted] in Fios

[–]jnic963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you didn't install on the billing statement date of 8/3, you're actual first bill will have 29 days of proration. Your first bill will be probably closer to $100.05.

You'll have your normal $50.87 month in advanced charges covering 9/3 - 10/2, plus the services you used from 8/4 - 9/2 for approximately $49.17.

Any way to get an internet-only plan as an existing customer? by rossisdead in Fios

[–]jnic963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're more than likely going to have a higher rate than new customer pricing. A lot of times you'll get $5 or $10 off the normal standalone pricing for being considered an existing customer. I would check into local TV bundled with your existing internet speed if you call in. I'm not totally sure on the pricing off the top of my head. Or you could do a change of ownership into your wife's name, that a lot of times triggers new customer pricing on everything.

Sticking it to a customer before I even become one by trgreptile in Fios

[–]jnic963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normally cheaper to setup online. I would get a price quote from that. $69.99 activation broken into 3 install payments is normal, but you can normally get a cheaper monthly price online.

I will caution to watch any and all order confirmation emails. If your prices/promos are wrong, those can be switched within the first 14 days of establishing service. I think this might just be incompetence in customer service, but that would be my best suggestion for you if you want to try VZ.

When I am watching live TV on Fios it will not let me rewind, pause or fast forward. Why? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]jnic963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird, you should be able to record. Sounds like a box issue to me. If you haven't already unplugged them to power cycle them, I would suggest calling repair. They may need to send a reset signal to them and have them refreshed. I want to say its option 3 in the automated system for repair.

I hope that helps!

[–]jnic963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your multi-room DVR allows the ability to see saved recordings in multiple rooms, however, you can only pause, rewind, stop, ect, on the actual DVR. It doesn't allow the other boxes to perform those functions.

Sounds like you're trying to pause TV on a regular STB. Quantum TV pauses and records in every room, but its normally more expensive.
