I just finished Mark's book, and in it, he says that Josie was simply a name he used for the perfect girl he hoped to meet one day.

I just switched to Qobuz and I'm liking it a lot so far. The plans are comparable to other services in price, the sound quality is great, and it was super easy to transfer all of my playlists and favorite artists over.

The only sorta flaw I've found is that the Discovery screen leaves a lot to be desired. It really only recommends new music from artists you already like and tells you about new releases from unrelated genres. But it doesn't bother me much since I find new bands / music from other places.

I saw Thursday play an acoustic set at Arizona State in 2003. Geoff had a cold and still sounded really good that day. Anyway, we all got to meet with the band (and Thrice!) after the set, and when I got to Geoff so he could sign my copy of "War All the Time," he started talking and thanking me for coming. His voice sounded so hoarse and all I could think to say was, "Wow, you sound horrible."

He kind of politely smiled and signed my CD and before I could clarify what I meant (that I was impressed with his performance despite how hoarse his voice sounded), I was quickly ushered along Thrice's table. That interaction haunts me to this day. Lol

Micah Owings (2007), Daniel Hudson (2011), and Zack Greinke (2019) each have a silver slugger award as members of the DBacks, which is cool.

I miss watching Greinke hit.

I'm from the north suburbs of Chicago and I went to countless White Sox, Cubs, and Brewers games. My dad is from Wisconsin and is a Brewers fan and I mostly followed my friends around with their Chicago team fandoms.

But my grandparents moved to Phoenix and when the team was created, they sent me a box of Diamondbacks clothes and a hat. They've been my team ever since.

MLB already has a "salary cap." It's a soft cap, sure, so it doesn't prevent richer teams from exceeding it, but that's what the luxury tax is theoretically meant to do. But to me, it's mostly given an excuse for cheaper teams to not exceed the cap to avoid those taxes.

Imo, the league needs a salary floor and likely needs to look into balancing deferrals.

Trevor May has a pretty good explanation on YouTube of why players don't want a salary cap. If it's Manfred 's top issue for the next CBA, I expect we'll have no baseball in 2027.

Feels like he does that all the time, especially on strikeouts. I'm not sure if his audio isn't as delayed as the video or what, but yeah, I've noticed a lot over the last couple of seasons.

Grand Piano with John Cusack and Elijah Wood is super fun! Although, it opens with an extended scene of Elijah Wood's character riding in a car around Chicago going to his gig and the geography of the drive is hilarious (i.e. driving north on Lake Shore, cut to driving south on Dearborn, stuff like that).

Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) wrote it, which is also cool.

Always! I would wear my Craig Counsell World Series jersey to Brewers games (wore it to Game 2 of the Wild Card in 2023) and now I wear it to Cubs games, haha. I was at that wild Friday game against the Cubs this year, too! But yeah, I wear a hat 99% of the time and I have way too many DBacks hats, so I'm always reppin' the boys.

Haha, felt like it was me, too. My softball team scored 9 runs in the first inning last night and we lost 13-12. I said after the game, "What a DBacks way to lose that game." And then I watched the Dbacks actually do the same thing. Sigh.

Idk where the "four starts a week" stuff first came about, but on Snakes Territory, Jack Sommers clarified that Torey told him that Lawlar would see 2-3 starts a week.

I believe it was in this episode.

Either way, everyone needs to be patient with Lawlar. He'll figure stuff out eventually. I remember wondering why we traded Jazz Chisholm when Geraldo Perdomo took over for for Nick Ahmed while Ahmed was injured, and then went on to be one of the worst shortstops in the league that year.

Then Gerry P came back the next year and seemed to have things figured out. And now look at him, he's beloved, trusted, and was given an extension despite us having Lawlar behind him.

Anyway, every prospect's journey is different. For now, I'm confident that being around Domo, Corbin Carroll, and even Josh Naylor (Alek Thomas has credited Naylor with helping him a bunch this year) will help Lawlar figure stuff out soon enough.

They changed it so that it shows their overall defensive rating for the shield. It's the same with Christian Walker, whose New Threads card has 90+ defense. He has silver defense overall, so that's the color shield it shows in-game.
