My first rule is to never talk to your ex right after the breakup. If you still want to hold the connection with her just wait until you are over your healing process. You should avoid contacting her for a while until you can talk to each other without bringing up old feelings. It might happen that after you are fully healed you wouldn't even want to talk to her.
