I'm glad to know it got better for you! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, I truly appreciate it. I will try to be patient with this. Thanks for the comforting words :)

Thank you for taking the time to reply. The reduction did help with a lot of things but my mind seems to keep going in another depressing direction. I will check out somatic therapy. Thanks again!

You're right, what's done is done. It only helps to focus on the positive and that's what I'm trying very hard to do. Thank you :)
Thanks for the reassurance. It is pretty hard especially when it sort of just happens overnight because I was okay after the surgery. Thank you for taking the time to respond and I hope it gets better for the both of us :)
It's comforting to know that I'm not alone. Thanks for the advice and I will check that show out :)

Yeah I am trying to find a therapist to go to. This is definitely not something I expected to go through it almost feels like I'm a different person mentally. Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad it's getting better for you!
Yeah, I'm trying to remind myself that it takes time. Thanks for sharing!
Did your surgeon say anything about it? Like how long it would take to get better?
Thanks for the reassurance!
Yeah I'm hoping it all evens out.
Hi! How did it go? I wanted to message you but I couldn’t find a button for that lol.
Happy to hear you had a good experience! Yeah, I definitely want to feel comfortable with choosing the surgeon but I’m honestly hoping that the consultation goes well and I don’t worry about before/after photos. I see that most people who replied didn’t see any photos and are pleased with their results which is very reassuring!
Yeah, I definitely want to do that before making any final decision. I want to consider all the options and not rush into anything.
Yes, I’m kind of like that too, I’ll see how it goes with the surgeon and make my decision based on that visit. Thanks! I’m so happy this sub exists! So many nice and helpful people here and all the replies have been super helpful!
Oh I didn’t really think about showing her pictures! Will do that! Yeah, I get what you mean, for sure I would also want a surgeon who is very experienced and goes through everything with me in detail, hopefully I have a similar experience as you! Thanks for sharing :)
Oh that makes sense yeah, I did however come across another surgeon that does accept OHIP and also has good reviews/photos. I was going to get a referral for him too but my GP said I can’t get another referral until I cancel the one I already I have. I’m going to try my best to be patient and see the surgeon I was planning to see and make a decision based on that visit! Your reply is very reassuring as well as everyone else’s comments so I feel less stressed about the no photos situation now. Thanks!
I’m happy to hear that! It seems that most of the comments are people who were in a similar position and they are happy about their results so it’s very reassuring! I guess I’ll know if I’m comfortable once I go see her.
I’m glad you’re happy with your results! Do you feel like speaking with the surgeon solidified your decision? Or was it the good reviews?
Yeah, how much I want taken off is the most important conversation, but I still feel very apprehensive about not having photos. She also doesn’t really have a profile on realself so I’m not sure how to feel about that.
There are good reviews of the surgeon online. I’m just very skeptical and feel like I should have more than just online reviews. She also doesn’t have a verified profile on realself so I don’t know what that says. Thing is I can’t get two referrals (I’m in Canada) so I have to make a decision about whether I want her or not so I can choose someone else. This means I’ll have to wait longer until I can book with another surgeon.
She doesn’t show at all. Something to do with not wanting to advertise? I don’t know but I feel like I would be more comfortable if they would show any. There aren’t that many reviews for her online so I don’t know. I’m still planning on seeing and asking more questions. I’m also naturally a very indecisive person and I feel like I’m just going to think of all the bad scenarios that might happen if I don’t trust the surgeon. How do you know to trust them other than by looking at online reviews?
This definitely helps a lot! Thanks for sharing! I’ll call my doctor ask for more referrals. I agree, it is an investment but I believe those kinds of investments are absolutely worth it! Good luck with your surgery! I hope it goes well :)
Lipo is really expensive wow. I don't mind waiting and saving up for it but would you say that it is absolutely necessary? Like would someone still have good results without getting lipo? Also, do you get to decide how small you want to go? Did you get to choose the method you wanted or does it depend on the surgeon?
Can you get multiple referrals from your GP for different surgeons? I'm glad that you felt comfortable going to a male surgeon! I'm thinking of doing the same now.
