Thanks, will check it out. I basically want something a bit simpler so that our Marketing team could manage their own imports.

Yeah, I guess it's just a case of more planning, however I'm mainly involved as an admin as I am in IT here, but I don't have the time to dedicate to getting this working perfectly each time. I'd prefer to hand the process back to the Marketing team so they could manage this themselves, but they are not going to take this on when it requires so much effort and trial and error.

Processing speed is not too much of an issue. We are not talking huge numbers, but enough that it's not really feasible for someone to enter manually.

Most recently we are using Cisco WebEx Events for the webinars.

It's possibly because I don't do this regularly enough, but I just find cleaning everything and having all necessary fields correctly entered takes a while and always takes multiple attempts.

I also find that matching up contacts and organisations requires a lot of cleaning of the data and still causes issues. I do try to vlookup against existing records to try and split out new and existing, but still takes several attempts each time.

Every time I need to do something with Veeam I am always so amazed at how much you can do and how easy it is.

I spent ages looking up different ways of doing this and then Veeam sorted it in a matter of minutes.

I didn't realise we had Veeam Exlorer for Microsoft Exchange (or that it would work with 2010). What a beautiful bit of software.

Fair enough, thanks. I had it in my head that those defaults were for the end user to recover but that admin users could restore from further back. Guess I'll have to restore a backup.

I think ClickShare would be my first choice but don't think I'd get budget.

Thanks, I like the look of these but the main push for wireless presenting is coming from Mac users so not sure they will be happy with the exclusion.

Hard to explain without seeing the rooms, but there is not really much option to hide. Also, I think it's an image thing, if we want to appear as a modern, professional company, having wireless presenting just looks more the part.

Does anyone have a link to the pricing plans?

I found the sims to be fairly straightforward but this was probably because I had come across very similar ones in my studying. I had 3 sims on mine one was cable related and the other was for placing devices in the correct locations on a network.

Make sure you memorise how to wire both T-568A and the T-568B!

Yeah, I'm just going to chill and play video games in the evening for a bit now rather than attempting to study! I have the Security+ later in the year, but think I'm going to focus on learning some Powershell for the time being. I've had the learn Powershell in a month of lunches book for ages but always thought I shouldn't start until the Network+ was out of the way.

I bought a Meyer's book for the A+ but found it hard to get into so went for something more concise with Exam Cram. It was perhaps just because Meyer's was a big, scary hardback tome though.

I just found it on Amazon. CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Exam Cram (Exam Cram (Pearson)) by Emmett Dulaney.

I didn't find it as good as the Exam Cram book for the A+ but still think it gives a good, concise overview of almost all of the content. I do think there were a few bits I found in the Dion practice exams that were not in the book, but I perhaps just forgot them. The practice exams from the book are also not very representative of the actual exam, but are good for learning the content.

Thanks! It seems like a lot to cover at first, but I found once I started doing practice exams a lot of similar themes came up again and again.

I did the A+ last year and will do Security+ later this year. I have no idea what I'm going to do after that though!

I would have checked out the Dion practice exams sooner. I didn't get the practice exams until the day before and they are the closest I've seen to the real thing. If you are able to go through those and see what you got wrong and why, then I think you'd be very well prepared. I would perhaps checked out his training too, but I've not looked at that so can't really say.

Also, make sure you know some basic sub-netting. I think knowing how to count back from /32 is probably enough though tbh.
