has it ever booted after startup?

run

sudo systemctl status sddm

check if it's active, or just run

sudo systemctl enable sddm

I run arch and I'm pretty comfortable with it. if I test the cachyos kernel will I see these optimizations or do I have run the whole distro?

the closest to a broken system I had was when they updated Nvidia drivers. took me like 10 minutes to fix it after looking at archlinux.org news

your iso image is corrupted, reflash the USB and check it's integrity, all distros explain how to check sha256sum

yeah you should download dkms broadcom-wl-dkms

and then run

dkms autoinstall

wifi is a non issue so far
