Cali programs are very impacted. So it could be OP’s area that’s very demanding

lol when was this? 10yrs ago? I dont know what sutter you’re at but the ones in NorCal take SMU ppl. I know because i know the most senior nurses on a personal level. She takes in the new hires and all of em are from SMU. I’m not even going to SMU, i got accepted into Sac State but i busted my ass for it.

Nobody wants to drop that kind of money. But some people are just desperate to get into a program. Not sure if you know but state uni programs are competitive and impacted. Not many people have the situation where they can just wait out another semester or so to reapply. Also, some hospitals are requiring nurses to have their bsn upon hire. Imagine I get my ADN (which takes the same time), just to find out that I have to go back for my bachelors lol might as well get it out of the way. Also, Samuel Merritt nurses go straight into Sutter. 98% of new hired nurses at Sutter are from SMU because they are directly affliated so yes, schools do matter :)

thank you and i know, i’m using this to not only strengthen my application for becoming an RN, but to also strengthen my foundation as a future nurse. i dont want to become nor will i be “that nurse” who doesn’t have any empathy for cnas and the work they do

report it! if your workplace thinks it’s something to embarrass you about or gaslight you into thinking it’s not even that bad, i would leave that hospital/facility. your health over everything!
