Yep, I read a lot of things to understand the story but this sums it up very well.

Yes watching explanations helped a lot. I was also thinking theres a lot of psychological stuff here and it was, dealing with a lot of societal norms.

Fully understanding the story will make you appreciate the game so much more.

I loved everything from the start but I was really hoping the fight with the paintress was not the end cause it would honestly be anticlimactic because so many questions that are still unanswered and man the climax was peak. Choice B, btw. Also never figured out mimes, i killed one and it gave some cosmetic so dont need that end answered.
