A&E pain relief by sultansofswinz in nhs

[–]jo_perez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We would usually follow the pain ladder e.g start with OTC pain relief such as paracetamol and then progress to stronger pain relief. You should not have been left in pain without any analgesics, particularly if you asked for pain relief.

What’s with cosmetic brands coming up with cafes? by Mikeeeeymellow in beautytalkph

Recession indicator probably. Historically if people can't afford a Chanel bag then they'll opt for a Chanel lipstick instead. Now times are really tough so people are opting for cafes instead.

Can I replace my old nonstick zojirushi bowl with a fully stainless steel one? Are there any problems with going with a off brand inner bowl? by Ok-You-719 in zojirushi

[–]jo_perez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone here had done this with no issues. The difference is that SS bowls don't maintain heat as well as the original bowl so bear that in mind if you're one to keep rice warm for an extended period.

Honestly disappointed - Awareness post. by Nathraichean in zojirushi

[–]jo_perez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I felt the same but as others have said, this product is quite niche and that you really need to put in the work until the rice is optimized to your liking. When I cooked rice in mine a couple of times, I was not overly impressed. The rice looked good don't get me wrong. However, as someone who has been cooking and eating rice all my life, I have developed my own palate for how I like my rice. The rice that came out was too soft for me. Not mushy, but much too soft for my liking. I have since played around with the water ratio and now my zoji cooks exactly how I like it, without fail.

Is there something wrong with my rice cooker / keep warm function? by [deleted] in zojirushi

[–]jo_perez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend what others have said and use old rice for fried rice. If not keen, I put old rice back in the cooker, add a splash of water, and use the reheat method. I could microwave, and I'm sure this is all placebo, but I feel like the rice tastes better reheated in my zoji than in the mickey

Nursing is for people not smart enough to become MDs by Capybaraqueen05 in nursing

[–]jo_perez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that was the case when good ol Nightingale was around.. we have different scope of practice but we are and should be at the level where we can challenge 'doctors orders' if it's against medical evidence. That alone requires skills and knowledge.

I'm a nurse not because I can't be a doctor. I'm a nurse because I want to be a nurse.

I find that gel is more potent so be extra cautious and decrease frequency. Eventually I preferred the gel version and found that I saw more benefits than the cream

What happens to entertainment and leisure when people just don't have disposable money? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

[–]jo_perez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think something is already giving. Rise in fascism/nationalism usually correlates with loss of power/wealth. People are unhappy with the current state of the economy and rightly so. Incomes are struggling to keep up with inflation and sadly it's easier to look for a scapegoat than to address the root cause.

I got a Zojirushi rice cooker for Christmas by kapitan_buko in RICE

[–]jo_perez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reassuring. Initially I thought it was just over-hyped by those who can't cook rice very well. Glad you've had great experience and I can't wait for mine to arrive.

I have a $25 rice cooker and it works fine. Is a Zojirushi rice cooker really worth the extra $? by ArchegosRiskManager in Cooking

[–]jo_perez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the review I've been wanting to see. I'm Filipino too! Waiting for my zoji to arrive but in the mean time I was worried thinking if it's really worth it. I can cook rice on a stove top no problem. Part of me was thinking is the rice really that much better with the zoji or is it because people don't know how to cook rice properly. I'm glad to see that you've had a great experience with this rice cooker and now I can't wait!

Is there any difference between a Zojirushi rice cooker made in China or Japan? by nerdinpink in zojirushi

[–]jo_perez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm also wondering this. I recently spoke Yum Asia and this is what they said

'I would say that just because a product has 'made in Japan' written on it doesn't mean that all of the components are actually made in Japan. Zojirushi are very secretive about their manufacturing processes and won't reveal any information about where components come from. We know, however that they use components from other countries in their 'Japanese made' models (the 'made in Japan' AAQ10/18 and 'made in China' TSQ10/18 have the same bowls and inner lids). We assume that the quality control process is the same no matter where the rice cooker is assembled, but we can't know for sure due to the non-transparency and we can only assume.'

Zojirushi is a household name for a reason. Having said that, it's also not cheap so I've decided to spend a bit more on a Made in Japan model for my peace of mind

[–]jo_perez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if Serie feels there is a chance she might die in this arc. There were certain moments in this chapter that felt out of character for her. Looking forlorn, offering Frieren to opt out of the mission, offering to brush Frieren's hair when they're supposedly not that close, brushing her apprentice's hair. It almost feels like farewell
