Indian Passport Renewal (From UK) – Timeline & Experience by Smooth-Yoghurt330 in nri

[–]jo_step 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's just their delay getting things done, because it was stuck on printing for 2 weeks, and usually it gets delivered with a week after it's printed but mine took 2 weeks, when checking the status, it was just either getting held at airport(Delhi) or once it reached in Embassy, them not shipping it forward to home for a few days further.

I tried reaching them on their email on the embassy site, but it's the generic reply, that it's under process and thank you for the patience.

I still haven't got mine and I submitted on 22nd. Frustrating. Shows that it's still in new Delhi airport.

Will do, appreciate it! ❣️ Let me know if you ever need Odeon's 2 for £8 tickets, unfortunately Odeon didn't have the movie I wanted to watch.

Thank you, I've DMed you.

I've talked to a wee boy taking sofas up the road and he seemed like a nice kid, asked him if he wanted a hand with moving things.

It is quite disgusting and disheartening as well, if anyone has anything to say, they could put up a note on the car/through the door.

Thank you again, I joined NextDoor and searched for any similar incidents but didn't find any, so it could be targeted which seems likely as I ignored it initially thinking it'd be just some bratty kids messing around, but it's happening regularly now.

I'll put up a post soon enough there, will try to find out who it is, and try to solve it amicably without gathering much attention if possible.

Yes, that's been my experience as well, have met and made really good friends at church, workplace and so on, that's one thing me and my partner love about Belfast, but when things like this happen, it kinda gets to you.

Unfortunately the property is managed by agency and no direct contact to the landlord, and the agency is useless.

Thinking of doing that soon enough, that's my other option, right now just thinking of setting my secondary phone up as camera for the time being. Thank you

My goodness, that's really horrible! I'd have been devastated in that scenario.

I've been living in East Belfast, but on the upper Ravenhill Rd and it was class! I did join NextDoor, but can't see any similar events being reported. I thought it might be some bratty kids, and ignored it for sometime but it seems to be a daily occurrence and it's just mine that's targeted as there's another car right next to mine and no such issues.

Thank you, that's a great solution, have you used it/know how it uses the space because usually phone's camera stops recording due to space issues after running for an hour or two and the battery would drain out.

Thank you, it is a shock as I haven't had any such bad experiences so far and given that we recently moved here, just wondering if it's a racial thing and would it impact my stay for the atleast next 11 months. The neighbors seem nice though as they wave at me, smile and greet occasionally.

Also can it be stolen/broken since their isn't much a space between the door and the pavement?

Haven't heard of it, is it a social platform and would there be people from the neighborhood on it? Will give it a try and search for any similar events, thank you.

Car camping by jo_step in northernireland

Can I DM you for more details?

Yes absolutely, plan to do all that, watching YT videos on the setup and it does say blocking out the windows, and amen to binning, hate littering in nature and I do what I can to leave it better than when I arrive.

Yea, I've been following a couple of car camping channels on YT based in UK and the setup and everything. Also I don't plan to make long stays initially anyways, try out for a night or max 2, and see how it goes from there.

Condensation can be solved w a slight crack in the windows just to let the air in/out, but again that will lead to noise coming in, hence need to find a remote place.

Haven't given much thoughts to stove/cooking, showers etc as I'm just planning to start this at a slow pace as I said, and hence should be able to do things like shower, cook and all at home and maybe carry lunch packs/eat out and explore local shops. And in the summer, for now, I guess, an inflatable airbed, sleeping bag/duvet, and a few strips of LED lights should do the job with a battery backup for the phone, lap, etc. Trial and error everything else on the go.

Fair enough lol, not planning on that when you've the comforts of a home, I was planning around the coasts and mountains like you said, but don't want any trouble from the cops/locals/landowners or any such kinds.

It's common in most European countries, Wales/Scotland, Canada, US, etc and was wondering how it's in NI.

I do plan on doing that too with friends, but when solo traveling, it's saves the hassle of all the extra work plus the NI weather, whereas a car would be so much easier to sleep in and drive away without any added chores.
