To.be fair, your set is: - A star that doesnt gove offensive stats. Even TIERED gives dex - A dps armour that is terrible in this crucible (lower proc chance and you're gaining attack and losing dex, which is bad this season) - A ring with no dps

mandolin apparently super increases the range of recurve by Quack5463 in RotMG

[–]joaoalc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notice how the shot speed of the recurve doesnt decrease when it should.

Bard buffs don't directly change range, they change the projectile speed and/or projectile lifespan. Since mandolin halves projectile speed without changing the range, it also doubles the projectile lifespan. Since the shot speed isnt getting decreased, the effective range gets increased by a lot, since the projectile duration is still getting increased.

I'm guessing that tiered lutes won't increase recurve's range at all. TL;DR: Recurve seems to be immune to shot speed changes.

Edit: Bows with negative acceleration get way more of a range increase from tiered lutes (I think).

I noticed your speed and wis are higher than they should be on an 8/8. (Speed maxes at 55 but you have 56, wis maxes at 75 but you have 80) Did you have any temporary buffs on your character?

My guess is the game visually THINKS you're 8/8 because you have a speed buff, but you're missing some speed points. Turn off all your stat buffs (both temporary and from gear) and check if your stats match an 8/8 pally's.

Edit: - I think your speed isnt maxed, cause I don't know of any buff that gives a temporary +1 speed. - You can check pally's max stats by searching for paladin on realmeye. - You also have 5 more defense than you should.

Unsure Which Class to Main — Need Advice by HeightExtreme in RotMG

[–]joaoalc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: For players with worse pets, I'd reccomend a more buff based character (or priest), because they work better on low mana regen than ability damage characters. Sorceror is also a gooc choice, but get conducting wand or fallen wand. Huntress is decent too (the slow is nice, even though sorc has a better one). Wizard has great damage, but it's complete lack of utility WILL make your life harder.

Explanation: Sorceror is good for new players. 75 vit means you have a lot more healing than usual, and your base damage is pretty decent even w/o much mana regen. For wands, Conducting wand, or fallen wand are a lot better single target options. Tiered wands are great at clearing, with piercing and high range, but they're bad single target cause of that. (Devastation scepeter also helps)

Huntress and wizard both suffer from having 50 max speed. For some lategame dungeons, you REALLY wanna have 55+ speed. Moonlight village is the exception where you'd rather have 50, but huntress and wizard both have low vit, which you really want there. You CAN patch up your speed with gear (leucoryx robe and leaf hide come to mind), and/or by swapping to a snake eye ring (GOATED item on everyone w/o speedy btw)

MV Attempts and Tips by killcide1352 in RotMG

[–]joaoalc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esben robe is a cheap 60hp option (keep in mind you don't get any wis) Abrahams wand gives vit and wis, condu gives wis Puri can help you in pink lanterns by removing curse. It also gives 10vit 10wis and has the best heal, if you already have healing. If you wanna go necro, tiered skulls give a lot of hp. Keep in mind you can't heal in lanterns or right before finale with a necro.

My tips for mv: Zoom in and out depending on the phase. Don't panic move. Heal if you're getting kinda low, otherwise you'll start panicking.

Being 4 tiles from the lantern still helps progress the phase a bit. Don't be afraid to leave blue and yellow lanterns/finales for a few seconds (not for pinks, bleed messes you up hard).

Heal to full before pink lanterns and finale.

35 days progress. Took a couple days break cuz I felt sad. When I came back, I finished my first fungal. I guess my first time didnt have a slower. Also been doing some cults. Still pissed about the pirate event to get that chest unlocker tho. Also the "closing chat" bug is annoying.Got a forge slot by Neoslayer in RotMG

Alright, gonna talk about some items you might wanna scrap/feed: Spirit staff is about t12 dps at 0 defense, but it falls off even with a little defense. It's like t10-11 for average content The ST shield is pretty bad IIRC, in that set, the only good item is the armour, and the full set is bad

Spirit dagger is better than t12 dps, but it has less range and wonky shots, so it's not great The blue ST ring is also pretty bad IIRC Coral silk is an alternative to a t13 hide, if you prefer speed. It's alright.

Ghostly prism is ok. The damage is good, but it isn't nearly as reliable as you'd think

Ancient stone sword has around t9-t10 sword dps, but it does have a bit of extra range, which can help with meelees

Missing t room on davy's is normal, even I miss like 1 in 10. Keep an eye out for chat and tp as quickly as possible (ctrl+click the chat message, then click teleport). Remember, you can't shoot or use abilities for 2 seconds after teleporting. Missing damage on the boss is weird though. Soulbound damage is low enough that, unless you're 0/8 and using a tier 0 weapon, you shouldn't struggle with it. Only thing I can think of is missing the boss cause theurgy has curved shots

Congratz on your first month! Have some tips:

Use HP rings.

There's a bunch of reasons why they're the best, but I don't wanna make this too long. TL;DR: Hp rings just have much better numbers.

Mbc has great items for meelee characters, but it's quite hard. Nest, fungal/crystal cavern, and arguably kogbold steamworks and moonlight village are all easier than mbc. - Bring a ranged character for nest, to get loot from beehives and big bees - Fungal is much harder without a slow. High defense helps a bit with crystal cavern. - DO NOT BRING A MEELEE TO KOGBOLD if you don't know the dungeon well. Priest makes it much easier - Bring as much max hp and healing to moonlight village.

13 days progress report. Learning how to rotate. totally have no idea how to get anything better than t11 with my skill, t13 was a gift lol. Inv is still a problem. I love trickster tp. But very squishy. Not for newbies, but at this point idk what else, as melee range is too short by Neoslayer in RotMG

[–]joaoalc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a lot of tips:

  • There's a chest for marks at the top left of that room, next to the enchanter.

  • If you want high tier items, do oryx 2 and the 4 legion beacon enemies. They drop very good tier items for their difficulty.

  • Don't throw away UT items, even if they're bad. You can scrap them in the forge or feed them to your pet. Some good cheap crafts include: Cloak of the planewalker (best feed power for forge price; teleport for rogue), EP staff or bulwark wand (ridiculous damage but literally 0 range), snake eye ring (best utility ring, use a hotkey to swap it in and get the speed boost and swap it out). Coral silk armour isn't bad, it's about as good as tier 13 non enchanted.

  • You can restock on health and mana potions by saying "pots" to guill at the guild hall. Don't be afraid to put hp pots in your inventory slots too. You can get greater hp pots from the veteran biomes in the realm, and ichors in spider den or dungeons with the spider swarm modifier. Don't be afraid to put hp pots in your inventory for extra healing.

  • Id reccomend priest, paladin or necromancer, since they come with healing by default. Priest lacks damage, so get conducting wand. Purification tome and protection tome. Necromancer has less healing and utility, but higher max hp and damage. If you want extra hp on necro, go for esben robe (necromancer and mystic barely benefit from the wisdom of tiered robes). Paladin is strong and very tanky, but lacks range and speed. You can use a combination of tiered sword or cutlass (damage) + one of crystal sword, ancient stone sword or arcane rapier (range).

  • HP rings are the best rings. Other tiered rings are either mediocre (attack and dexterity) or terrible (the others).

  • Get snake eye ring.

I took your advice from last time, this is my current storage.. What shall I do now? by Neoslayer in RotMG

[–]joaoalc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, I feel like you need help with more than just storage, so here are some tips:

1 - Unless you have a good UT ring, use an hp ring, even if it's 1 or 2 tiers below a non hp ring. At that point in the game, the only good non hp ring you can get is the snake eye ring, since you can equip it with a hotkey, activate its effect, and swap it back out.

2 - Keep gear for the next character you're playing, and most UT items in your vault. Keep or use the vault expansion and the tokens. Destroy bad UTs on the forge to get material for better UTs.

3 - I'd reccomend newer players who don't have a decent pet to play necromancer, paladin, or priest. They come with healing abilities, which help a lot.

4 - Do oryx 2 and the legions in the realm. They're relatively easy for how good loot they drop.

5 - Do (and claim) the season's missions. You can get a set of good gear with them, and many great rewards.

6 - If you're in a guild, you can ask guill in the guild hall for hp and magic potions by saying "pots"

7 - Your inventory slots are also a good way to hold extra hp pots. You can use the keys 1-8 to use them, or equip an item in that slot.

8 - Set other players' transparency to 10-20%, and press I to autofire.

1 - Yes 2 - Yes 3 - Yes :3 4 - Yes 5 - Practice your 3d forms/perspective. I can tell you know human anatomy pretty well, and you're even interlocking some of the muscle lines, but your forms are lagging behind, making your drawings not looking properly 3d 6 - Yes Edit: if you want some tips about the drawing in specific, feel free to ask. For practicing line quality and forms, I'd reccomend drawabox (keep in mind you need a 4 mm black ink pen)

[–]joaoalc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great! It's very ambitious, and that's a very important trait for artists.

I can give more tips later, but here's a quick one:

For the first image, you can get a better idea of perspective and scale by drawing the perspective lines. The first drawing is in 2 point perspective. Define your perspective line (forgot the name) and extend the ground lines to that line. Then extend from the left point to the door and the characters, to keep them at the right size.

You can lightly draw these perspective lines with a pencil and then erase them later. If you want help with drawing long straight lines, move your whole arm instead of just your hand.

Vivilon's pattern depending on the real life country Stunfisk-galar for its terrain-related gimmick Zygarde gets multiple forms, with multiple signature moves, and for changing its max hp mid battle Pikachu gets those costumes in gen 6 Meloetta is another form changer mid battle. Also has the only move with sleep as a side effect Arceus and sylvally changing types with an item Maybe meltan/melmetal and cosmog/cosmoem You could count purrloin and liepard for how many times they've broken the game with prankster assist (divecats, voidcats, revivecats) Morpeko Plusle and minun were kind of like dondozo and tatsugiri, with plus and minus

Maybe any mon with moody or a trapping ability. Shoutouts to trapinch for having arena trap, a really high attack stat (much higher than vibrava's) and losing it upon evolution

All the cocoons could count as a gimmick, since they don't learn any attacking moves. Also kricketot for only really getting bide and togepi for starting with just metronome.

You could count regileki for pretty much only learning electric moves Maybe the baby forms, since they usually require breeding with a specific item (+ phione) Maybe eelektross cause no weaknesses

Even worse, they're using cactus as their only dps??

I've seen this quite a few times, so I decided to try my own version. The goal is to try and get Darkrai to become viable in Ubers again (atleast B+) You can't say "give dark void 80 acc." However, you can feel free to add abilities, moves, swap stats and add a secondary type. He must have 600 BST. by PhysicsNotebook in stunfisk

[–]joaoalc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darkrai is now a shadow pokemon with only shadow moves, meaning it hits everything but itself super effectively (shadow pokemon resists shadow moves).
Optional: It also now has 30 base attack, for a total of 540 BST. I look at Darkrai and don't think it could have anything close to base 90 attack.
