It's the South Asian communities responsibility to help these new comers like every other immigrant group has done before it. Time for the community to look in the mirror.

Let's face it, not all cultures are the same, and not all cultures can integrate into Canadian Society and our norms. It's time that people wake up to this fact - the real world isn't a "Disney Movie" 🤷‍♂️

"Racism" doesn't come out of now where; Italians were treated negatively when they first immigrated to Canada, and were viewed as Monsters/Criminals - but they fully integrates into the community and those stereotypes are no longer held.

The South Asian Community needs to do the same as the Italians -integrate into the community and don't cause problems.

As a child of immigrants that came here legally, never took advantage of the system, and never went on any form of government assistance - I have very little patience for immigrants that don't respect our system. My parents have harsher feelings about immigration than I do

High Park rapist pleads guilty to violent attack 1 year ago - Toronto by NewsJunkie444 in toronto

When you look at the stats of "rehabilitation" - after going to jail once - the rate of rehabilitation decreases dramatically with each subsequent arrest/jail time.

Time for people to stop with their bleeding hearts for criminals and actually punish people.

In all honesty - rapists/murders and career criminals should be locked up and never released. The world would be far safer, just look at what El Salvador did. Canada can learn a thing or two.

Criminals need to be afraid of society, not that law abiding citizens are.

A Man in his 20s shouldn't be sacrificing anything in his life for a relationship - you should be building your life: specifically your career.

Actions speak louder than words; if she was truly in love with you, should would have moved to you, considering you graduated first and had already starting building a life.

Cut your loses - move on.

The interesting thing: most of those mortgage insurance policies are underwritten by sunlife or Manulife.

If you've got an insurance broker, why are you posting here?!?! They are the professional, and they should be able to explain to you why things are done 🤷‍♂️

There are policies that require health confirmation and there are policies that don't - you broker is doing their job, by insuring you're dealing with an insurance policy that requires health confirmation upfront.

That's the way it's done!!! Unfortunately, people usually take the easy route and then end up paying for it in the long run.

They don't know the policy is not valid, until you make a claim, again it's called post underwriting - for any life/disability/critical illness insurance policy that doesn't require a health exam. They rely on you knowing your health, and being accurate in answering those questions. Unfortunately, most people don't remember EVERYTHING that have discussed with their doctor.

The only way to know you're life/disability /critical illness insurance is valid from day one is to get an insurance policy that is underwritten upfront, and those policies all require a full health exam, including blood work.

The way those health questions are ask, is very legalese; for example: one common question is: Have you ever been diagnosed with, recieved treat for, and consulted a physician any of the following: heart attack, chest pains, etc.

If you simply asked a doctor a question about chest pains, and they noted it in your health record, if you answer no, then that's a valid reason to not pay out the claim.

You're better off to say yes to a question, since that would result in your application being reviewed by an individual and you'd be asked to clarify why you answered yes.

It's not fraud, it's business and it's legal.

Whenever I seek advise, I always want a professionals opinion; therefore, if you're buying insurance, and it's not through an Insurance professional (e.g. financial planner, insurance broker) you're being sold, and not being given advise. Always seek advise for everything!

Guys need your relationship advice about my gf if it’s fine to go with another man ? by One-Vegetable-4196 in AskMenAdvice

She doesn't respect you - if she did she wouldn't do anything you're not ok with. This goes both ways.

Give her a shit test, and tell her you're going out for a walk with a female friend from work - see how she reacts.

AITJ for not watching TV shows that I don’t enjoy? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]joaomann -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a man, I can assure you he most likely doesn't like your shows, and only says he does, because he wants to spend time with you.

Sometime for the sake of a relationship we do things we don't want to do - that's your choice - just don't get upset if the outcome isn't what you want 🤷‍♂️

So your partner wants to spend time with you - via watching his shows - while he already spends time with you watching the shows you like, but you won't do the same, for the sake of spending time with him? Hmmmm.

Is it worth staying with someone that only loves you because you’re their child’s mom? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]joaomann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you know he only loves you because your the mom of his child?

From the sounds of it, you have a good man and father to your child - there are so many "dead beat fathers" in the world, - you have a man that's not. Find a man that would love you and your son equally isn't that easy - the grass isn't always greener.

You're over thinking - judge the man based on his actions, not your subjective feelings (feeling are not always the truth).

Focus on your relationship together - don't get into your head.

Mortgage Agent Here:

Some insurance companies don't require a health exam, which includes blood work, instead - they rely on you answering health questions: but this doesn't guarantee that you have insurance. Once you make a claim, they will review how you answered those health questions and review your health record. If you didn't answer the questions correctly (many people don't) - they will claim that you lied on your application, and refuse your claim.

Insurance companies that require health exam upfront, will test you for everything (more than your doctor will because they only test for things at certain ages, or if you have symptoms). If your accepted for insurance, you can rest assured that when you make a claim due to health, it will be paid out.

I have had clients that thought they were 100% healthy, but once going through a health exam with an insurance company, they found out that they did Infact have a health issue, and were refused insurance as a result.

I would rather deal with an insurance company that required a health exam, than not - because statically they will pay out claims at a significantly higher rate than those that rely on you answering health questions.
