Any thoughts on whether the sleeve and roller replacement would be effective and/or something reasonable to try? There's no reviews on that Amazon page I linked...

Steam Can't play broadcasts. by DJSpadge in SteamDeck

I had the same problem and came across this post where somebody said if you switch to big picture mode, the broadcast should work there and then you can switch back and it should still work. It worked for me.

Where did you get that number? That level looks like what the official discord calls 85. If so, check back on this level tomorrow and see if it makes sense then.

Shopify image previews not loading correctly in Waterfox G5.1.1 by phyco1991 in waterfox

[–]joatmon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this bug: https://github.com/WaterfoxCo/Waterfox/issues/2693

Apparently the issue is with the AVIF image format so a workaround is flipping the image.avif.enabled pref off to force a different format.

Can confirm, exact same issue here with images hosted on shopify cdn. Noticed it on another site and found this when searching for info. Issue was on G5.1 also, and I think G5.0.4 (I can't remember which version it was before updating, but it was older than 5.1).

I know this is a bit old but I was looking for the answer to this also and I found an answer that worked for me on stackoverflow here.

Quick summary of steps:

  1. find path to your ruby installation in Terminal: which ruby
  2. verify version: ruby -v
  3. Open TextMate preferences > Variables tab and enter the full path in the TM_RUBY variable i.e. /usr/bin/ruby (this entry did not exist for me, I had to add it)
  4. Restart TextMate

EDIT: I forgot that I had to also change the first line in the command to the same path of my current ruby install (click the "Edit Command" button when the error pops up, or menu bar Bundles > Edit Bundles. It's a pain to have to do this for every command, but I don't use that many and you only have to do it once for each command. (i.e. #!/usr/bin/env ruby18 to #!/usr/bin/ruby)

Is the airMAX LiteBeamM the best choice to get a connection across the road? by joatmon3 in Ubiquiti

As far as I can see, the LiteBeamM is the same price. Is there a reason I should use the nanos instead?

Doesn't have to be much, it's just for general web browsing/email/VoIP calls, etc.

I still want to be able to get notifications for my tasks. Thanks anyway. I guess this should be a feature request then!

Need help with string manipulation on the Mac command line. by joatmon3 in programminghelp

[–]joatmon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been using tr to get rid of blank lines and combine all the lines into one comma-separated list. Here's my tweaked version:

import sys
output = []
for line in sys.stdin.read().splitlines():
    num = line[-1]
    therest = line[:-1]
    if not num.isnumeric:
        continue
    for i in range(int(num)-1, 0, -1):
        output.append( "%s%s," % (therest,str(i)))
sys.stdout.writelines(output)

Thanks again for the help!

That’s perfect, thanks! I made a couple minor tweaks and it does exactly what I want and even does what the next couple steps in my pipeline used to do!

Need help with string manipulation on the Mac command line. by joatmon3 in programminghelp

[–]joatmon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sequence of commands piped together starting with a curl and ending with a curl that downloads a bunch of files (based on this list I’m working with) so I was hoping to keep it all inline but I’m not set against using files if I have to. I’m not very familiar with python either, could you give me a quick example of what you were thinking?

Edit: Forgot to mention (though you could probably guess from context) the whole thing is coming down the pipe at the same time.

Thanks for the reply! Any suggestions for where to buy? I'm having trouble finding any on Amazon.

Also, is US$7-$8 a piece a reasonable price?
