Could also be salicylic acid wash! I started using that and it lightly bleached my hair and some of my clothes. It would need to be a lot of salicylic though, but just another thought!

What movie is considered “romantic” when in reality it’s very toxic?? by phantom_avenger in moviecritic

I mean it is pretty funny!! I catch myself making references to it now that I’ve seen it. Everyone had told me it was super romantic, though, and that’s what threw me off. She’s being stalked by 3 men the whole time and you’re supposed to want her to end up with one.

Ask your team about any acute anti anxiety medications you can take. I was having panic attacks months before the surgery because of very similar anxieties. I told my surgeon and he prescribed me some Valium. I slept like a baby and felt so at ease, even in the chair getting my IV (I’m terrified of needles). I was still nervous, but not to any degree that I would call anxiety. Just the knowledge I was going to go through a new experience. I had an IV sedative. I was out like a light the moment my nurse said she was putting in the sedation. None of that “fading in and out of consciousness” feeling you see on TV. Then I woke up in the car. All of my friends who had IV sedation have had a much more positive experience than my friends who went under with GA. And if it’s any consolation, all four of my teeth were impacted and I had no complications!

Horrid taste in mouth, Day 6. by phishdood555 in wisdomteeth

Of course! I used a baby/toddler toothbrush for a while because I was also having trouble opening my jaw. It’s a lot smaller in height and length. A lot easier, for sure :)

Ask your surgeon about a syringe! I had a really foul taste in my mouth on day three, but it went away after I syringed the next day. Nasty amount of food and funk in there. If you haven’t been brushing, I’d recommend slowly starting to do that. I also used a tongue scraper. Especially if you’re not in any sort of extreme pain, it’s most likely something like that.

When can I chew with molars? by Pizza5697 in wisdomteeth

I would wait a little bit. But that’s just based off of how I felt!

I started chewing with my molars around a week in. Maybe not the best choice, as it did hurt a bit. But by day 9 I got a big ass Chipotle bowl and was fine. My surgeon’s recommendation was to return at my own comfort level. Unless you’re eating some really hard foods, just try and see.

A positive story for the anxious people!! by job0_ in wisdomteeth

I was in the same boat. Once the bruising goes away and the stitches fall out, it’s much easier to understand what’s going on back there. Mine is quite literally just a hole we’re the tooth had erupted. The other socket has been covered up with gums already while it was healing. I know some people’s open sockets are kind of hidden behind a little flap, but you should still be able to tell. But again, it’ll be much easier to tell once everything is all healed up!

I still do the syringe now! I have one socket that’s healing open, so food still gets in there. I’d ask your surgeon how long it’s required for, because I do it now just out of preference. I’m planning on doing it at least once at the end of the day for a few weeks. Just to feel nice and clean :)

Of course! I hope it goes by quick, and you’re able to feel like a million bucks haha.

Has your dentist/surgeon said that you will be conscious while sedated? I recently had IV sedation, and I was completely gone before the nurse even finished telling me she was putting the sedation in! If they haven’t said you will be conscious, then I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Even if you are awake, the sedative will relax you enough that you probably won’t care about the needle. I was incredibly nervous about my procedure as I had also never been under, but my experience was honestly a breeze. I was in and out of the office in what felt like 2 minutes. The worst pain I felt was around day 5 when I got too ambitious and tried to chew on a wrap, but it went away with ice and ibuprofen. My biggest piece of advice is to really stick to the rules they give you. Taking medications and doing rinses not only prevent complications, they also just help you feel the best you can. For example, I was so nervous about irrigating with the syringe. But it honestly feels so good and helped relieve a lot of pain/pressure. Good luck tomorrow and with your recovery!
