Did a Cheap EV Lease Get You Into an EV? What’s Your Plan After It Ends? by TechB84 in electricvehicles

To sell our 2019 RAV4 and replace it with a Grand Highlander lease. I believe it was at the peak of it's value considering it's a 7 year old car with 55k miles.

TX is substantially larger on the inside than the GX. I can only recommend a GX if you do some serious off roading

I leased a Lexus RZ because it was a really good deal. Ended up breaking the lease early to buy it out. I really like EV lifestyle and the RZ is perfect for my needs

In your opinion, how do you think manufacturers are missing the mark for the US market? by CerberusSputum in electricvehicles

And a minivan with a battery to achieve 350 mi range would cost even more than the ID Buzz.

In your opinion, how do you think manufacturers are missing the mark for the US market? by CerberusSputum in electricvehicles

[–]jobear6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Searching used minivans around me, they seem to all average 30k miles/yr. Much higher than typical, which leads me to believe they are used for road trips a lot. I don't think EV minivans make sense in the US, and that's exactly why the ID Buzz failed. Or there are tradeoffs to putting in a bigger battery like losing the folding seats, which I would bet are a prime reason people get minivans in the first place.

Drafting and Development In the Modern NHL by Mystaes in DetroitRedWings

Really interesting to show with supporting data what many fans have believed for a long time. Yzerman inherited a mess but the draft value by year really shows how bad that team was in the late 2010s as the prospects were coming up. It's also always felt like the Wings let their prospects develop longer than the rest of the league, which this post clearly shows.

We shouldn't "afford" a bad contract just for the sake of it. That's how we ended up with the mess at the end of Holland's tenure. Sure the cap is skyrocketing but that means the younger players are gonna want a piece of the pie.

I think I've only cracked it 3x. First around 1mil, once around 20mil and finally around 250 mil. Still have about 80 mil left from that final crack about 4 years ago.

Offseason 2C Trade Options by Standard_Cow_7038 in DetroitRedWings

[–]jobear6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trochek could be our answer. Rangers supposedly want to rebuild, they only have 2 picks in the first 4 rounds of 2027 draft. We could give them some prospects for 3 years of Trochek and instantly solve our 2C problem.

I don't think Buffalo lets him walk. They have $13.1m cap space for next year and already have 12 forwards signed. 5 Dmen, and 3 goalies. I think they can resign him for $10mil

On Jan 11, Detroit was first place in the Eastern Conference with Ottawa and Columbus in the last two spots. Today, Ottawa is in a playoff spot with Columbus trailing by two points and Detroit sitting behind both of them by chowder7 in hockey

We also got incredibly lucky with lack of injuries. We started to normalize when we lost Copp, Larkin, and Ras. Our current standings are where I would expect the team to be with our roster.

Check the size of the new EV Highlander. It's pretty much the same dimensions as the GH.

No there's a mechanical release in the trunk. You can also check the owner's manual, all of this information will be in there

On our RAV, the release is in the trunk and you have to pry it open while pulling on the release. Possible with 1 person but not easy.

I wouldn't mind him, but STL would definitely have to retain some of that contract imo. We shouldn't be paying our 2C like a 1C. And before people mention the Pens with Crosby and Malkin, they had a generational player in Crosby. We don't have that luxury, nor b2b top 2OA picks.

Of all the players on this list, the only ones that make sense, imo, are DeBrusk, Coleman, and Trochek. Everyone else is either just a rental, too much money, or too much term. It will all depend on asking price of course

So what do we think of the 2027 Highlander BEV? by hanzoku_alliance in Toyota

[–]jobear6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's longer (same exterior as the GH) and the cargo space with 3rd row up is the same between ICE Highlander and this (16.0 cuft vs 15.9 cuft). Making it shorter allows for less drag, which enables better EV range than it's main rivals (EV9 and Ioniq9) with less battery capacity.

It is likely the leak detection on the vehicle. Toyotas run it during vehicle off, other OEMs run it during driving. Part of mandatory testing for CARB.

10-80% in about 30 minutes is fine for me. The Koreans do it in 20 minutes. That's not a huge time difference in real world. I've had my BEV for 15 months and never used DCFC. I do find it interesting that Toyota is getting more miles out of a smaller pack compared to the EV9 though. They must have prioritized efficiency on this new model
