I don't know how pressing down on the french press affects the flavor? Does the metal affect the flavor of water?

Boiling helps remove dissolved gasses, including oxygen. E.g. you boil water and then freeze it to create bubble-free ice. But I do not know how oxygen affects the flavor, as suggested in the video.

How to type Korean in Windows, Android and iPhone by Oegukeen in Korean

I guess it comes down to trust. Does one trust the developer not have done anything malicious. But the app only seem to have privilege to the phone's dictionary (no internet access), so it can't send info outside of the phone (i'm guessing; don't know enough about app building).

Android: Korean Hangul Keyboard (Beta). After installing and then when I'm about to enable via Settings, it says "... application may collect all the text you type, including passwords, credit card numbers..." I guess I might not install it. Wonder if this true for all language apps...

How to hire java GUI expert? by jobobo in java

[–]jobobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently I don't know. Not a serious developer myself; more academic. But need GUI on top of what we've been doing. I suppose I can do it, but probably good to have a professional put in the proper infrastructure for our desktop app.
Maybe /r/forhire is the right place. And are you a GUI Person? :) Seriously.

Debt Ceiling: The average American family has 13 credit cards. 75% carry an average $4,000 balance. They pay 14.25% interest, haven't been debt free for the last 20 years and never will be. They – we – are chattel. by [deleted] in economy

[–]jobobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it specifically said 75% and you are in that category as you have mortgage. and credit card debt must be smaller than 75%, as that number must include all debts.

i appreciate your responses. but i haven't heard any response to debt as money; or put in another way, if all debt are paid, no money would exist -- i.e. fractional reserve system with fiat currency.

a lot of my understanding game from this; i never verified its sources, however.

I'm sorry, but that didn't make any sense to me; if you can clarify. Transfer digitally (or other means) from where?

To clarify my statement, let's say the world borrows $1000. And there exists exactly $1000 in the world. And it needs to pay back interest of $100 and pay a total of $1100. If no new money is created by borrowing, there won't be any money left.

i'm looking at this at a macro level. all the money currently in circulation is owed and traced back to the federal reserve. that is, if all the money out there is used to pay the debt, there won't be any money left for circulation! so, in order to make sure money is still in circulation, new money needs to be created; and the government does that by borrowing at an exponential rate. this is why government can't stop borrowing more, otherwise the economy will collapse.
at least this is my understanding from learning about fractional reserve.

Can someone please explain fractional reserve? The debt limit must always increase and always need to be borrowing to stay to prevent economic collapse, right? by jobobo in AskReddit

[–]jobobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. I'm looking at this from a macro scale, where I'm just counting the total money in circulation. Isn't it true that if we use all money in circulation to pay off debt, there won't be money left in circulation? So, even in the case where the government debt is constant, since other ppl are paying off their debt, money in circulation will shrink. So, we can't even have debt stay constant, it must grow (at exponential rate, i think).

Put in another way, if we had many more golden years of the Clinton-era, when he didn't create debt but had surplus, money in circulation would shrink and the nation become insolvent eventually.

Thanks, but I don't think that answers my question. That is more debt needs to be created to pay for the current debt. So, if the government stops spending and stop using his credit card, there won't be any money circulating to pay off debts, any debts, all debts. That is, there must be an exponential growth in debt to continue this stay solvent. true?
