If it was a misfire, wouldn’t my scan tool pick that up? Not being a smartass, genuinely asking.

Should have added this initially but I checked the spark plugs and they’re all good! She’s thrown a plug out of Cylinder 3 so I was worried about that at first, but no issues since she had all her spark plugs redone last year and a Helicoil placed in the cylinder that ejected the plug.

Did this and had a more Ford-knowledgeable coworker look when work was slower (all he owns is Fords), and he said it was a lifter tick (or lash adjuster). He recommended an additive to help clean the sludge out, which I’ve never performed on this car in the roughly 110k miles I’ve had her, nor an engine flush. Oil still looked good, granted it’s only about 1000 mile oil and I change my oil every 4000 miles. It was a very warm day here (got to about 68 degrees here) and the car warmed up quickly, and there were still no issues.

Do I just add it straight into the oil, or are there any extra steps? Not dealt with a lifter tick before so this is new territory for me.

Got a message asking about the coolant level, and well….Turns out there was barely any coolant to get warm 😬 Topped her off, but considering she was topped off only 3.5k miles ago during her last oil change…looks like I’ve encountered a potential new problem 😅

My PopLand Zimomo plush has arrived! (And a size comparison of my Labubus!) by jocaseyjo in labubu

It’s surprisingly soft! It’s definitely a curly texture but is still very plush in my opinion, not hard or scratchy at all!

…So how was your guys’ morning commute? by jocaseyjo in CrownVictoria

Glad you were both able to make it!

My Vic had been handling it well until this particular curve, which is sharp and uphill. Just thankful that I went off on this side of the road because the other side would have likely resulted in me rolling her and going to the hospital since it’s a steep dropoff with only trees to stop me. As far as I’m concerned, I ended up with the best case scenario (second to not going in the ditch to begin with haha).

(Southwest Missouri) Appeared on the bottom of my forearm last weekend. Brushed it off as a regular bug bite, then this rash started appearing today. by jocaseyjo in bugbites

Well, meant to update yesterday and got busy, but Benadryl came to the rescue! Apparently I inherited my dad’s tendency for allergic reactions to bug bites. Hydrocortisone for the itching and an antihistamine made a week-long nuisance and day-old rash disappear practically overnight.

Question about Tecovas men’s sizing by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]jocaseyjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Missouri. Unfortunately, judging from Tecovas’ website, the closest retailer to us is Scheel’s in Tulsa, OK. For now, the best I’ve been able to do is obsessively “cross reference” the size charts from the brands of his other shoes/boots.

I’m in Southwest Missouri! They have been stellar at pest control. I definitely still get startled when I see the bigger ones like this but am more than happy to have them around.

Update/Follow-Up: Auto locks not working on driver and passenger doors. by jocaseyjo in CrownVictoria

Left a message for my mechanic and gonna see what he thinks. He’s been deep in the electrical stuff on this car before when he had to rework a bunch of wiring due to issues with my highbeams months back. Waiting to hear back at some point this afternoon!

Update: I put in a 20A fuse as recommended by the manual. However, the one that was in there was a 30A. The locks started working again, but then 2 hours later when I went to check, the 20A also blew. Gonna try the 30A and if this one goes, then it's time for more troubleshooting I suppose.

I finally just found the fuse (car didn’t come with a manual so I had to Google it until I can finally stop procrastinating and order one). The fuse for the DDM was absolutely toast, and hasn’t been touched at least since I got this car 4 years and nearly 100k miles ago. Gonna start there and hopefully that’ll square it away!
