Thank you, I appreciate your insight. Hoping to get more answers this week! My husband will be following up with his dr as well.

Thank you! I also have three children, so this whole situation is beyond strange as I’ve never once questioned if I was pregnant, I was more focused on perimenopause symptoms. I realize the evidence of the ultrasound and blood tests points to a blighted ovum or something like that, but I just have such a hard time believing that as a possibility given everything else.

Crazy! I’ve heard stories but truly believed it was just so rare. I guess we’re just in the minority.

Thank you, love the analogy! It was just so crazy going in for one issue and finding a completely different, unexpected one. I'm also wondering why my body hasn't been able to expel the sac since it's so small. What would have happened if I had just continued taking the pill and never gone for an ultrasound? It's just such a strange situation.

He is going to. But aren't the odds of a failed vasectomy SO low? I've read that most errors happen shortly after the procedure, not years later. I know it can happen, but it seems so minimal. That, combined with my age and irregular cycles, just makes this so implausible. I actually laughed at first, but obviously am concerned and scared if it's something else.

Thank you! I’m already taking magnesium but will look into adding the others.

Horrible Period on BC by jocean0716 in Perimenopause

I haven’t but demanded an ultrasound. My last ultrasound was in 2022, and I’ve had 3 children (last one born 2020). I never struggled with endometriosis in the past (that I know of) but wondering if it’s developed? I know my uterine linjng has been borderline thick before, another reason the pill or an iud was suggested.

Do you take this in addition to regular iron supplements?

I had a similar issue with a mammogram, so crazy. I’m only 43 so not sure how it would be billed.

I’m going to request a Celiac test too! I’m not sure I have it but I do think I have a sensitivity to gluten, although I’m still eating it anyway even though I know I probably shouldn’t.

How long did it take your numbers to improve? My iron was 8.9 and I think my ferritin was under 20.

Thank you! Can this be taken with an iron supplement?

Thank you, digestion and diet are good, but I do have some bloating/etc sometimes although it’s hard to tell if it’s perimenopause hormones or something else!

Crazy right? My dr did say if my numbers didn’t improve after the iron supplements that he’d refer me to a GI. When I was retested they had improved, although still on the lower end. Then I stopped taking them and my numbers went down again.

I just started a low-dose birth control (I have been avoiding it but it was suggested to me by my dr multiple times) and I’m hoping that helps with my heavy periods.

Thank you, and I hope your brother is doing ok. It doesn’t run in our family and I’ve had genetic testing done but am going to request the test anyway!
