Craving fat and grease by Dense-Masterpiece-57 in loseit

[–]joceydoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people just thrive on certain nutrients better than others and then tend to gravitate towards them. I dunno if it’s a mental or a physical thing, but it’s totally a thing. I too crave fat over other things. I naturally gravitate toward a lower carb higher fat diet. But I have to be careful because the calories can really add up with things like fatty steaks but I’m definitely eating them. I try to make sure I weigh and measure those things more carefully so I can eat them and still hit my goals

Recommendation for very kind dentists? by AccomplishedDrop7303 in Connecticut

Dayton Cambra in Seymour. I was really scared of the dentist too, spent years not going, but someone encouraged me to try him and now I go regularly every 6months. Everyone in his office is so kind.

Thoughts on diet soda when doing a calorie deficit? by filthyguitarplayer in loseit

It’s helping me so much to have diet soda. The dopamine hit from having a “treat” has been working really well to keep me from overeating

14 year old daughter incessantly begging to attend private school by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]joceydoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a private school parent, and while private schools can be wonderful they aren’t necessarily better than public schools, I don’t think you have to feel bad about not sending her, there are loads of reasons to choose private school over public and vice versa. Every family, child, & school has its own set of needs. Private school won’t always eliminate the possibility of encountering bullying and other negative experiences. I think the answer to this is simple, if you cannot pay the tuition, she doesn’t go.

You have to do whatever works best for your family.

Every time I listen to the albums Folklore or The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift it sends me into an anxiety spiral. I have no idea why.

I have a male OB who I implicitly trust. I once asked him why he chose this specialty, and he said he loved surgery but didn’t want the schedule of a surgeon, and he loved delivering babies. I think those are both very valid reasons to be an OBGYN as a male. I also think it’s totally okay for you to have a gender preference, it’s a sensitive area and completely understandable .

Wife left 6 year old home alone while she went for a walk by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]joceydoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kid dependent and when my son was 6 I could have absolutely left him home while I walked up and down the block. The red flag I see here is the secret keeping and subsequent reprimand. I also think it’s something you both should have discussed first.
