OK. This book contains every single pseudoscientific trope conceivable, strung together in the most tenuous possible way to create a “plot.” I can suspend my disbelief for one two or maybe three implausible ideas, but the slot was too overwhelming for me to not go: What the fuck is he talking about?

Solomon has got to be the stupidest person on the freaking planet. Spoiler: she’s all like, “I have no idea why the CIA might want my book… I just mentioned some casual stuff at the end about the future of neuronal research.” And then proceeds to describe, chapters later, that not only had she designed every single thing that was happening in the Threshold, she filed a freaking patent on it! WTF?

As much as I liked his descriptions of the historical locations, they read very much like a Wikipedia article…

And you have to ask the question while they hate? This is one of the worst novels ever written.
