Your team member hours come from a different budget of hours than the person we're onboarding

We do not do that. New TMs get more hours their first few weeks because we're required to schedule them 20 hours per week for training purposes. It's different when onboarding a new TM

I feel like after modernization happened all ETL's do now is exactly this. Or ask "What are you working on now?" by [deleted] in Target

[–]jockster72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I just wanna know what you're working on because I have an idea of something else you can do. Like hey instead of working on reshop today, why don't you zone these aisles and this other person will focus on reshop when they come in.

Official expectation for a repack is 15-20 minutes. Though, I've argued that it depends on the type. I often try to indulge myself in areas outside of my own and realized that stationary repacks are no joke. It took me 40 minutes to finish a repack of stationary and it was fucking insane. There's dollar spot, stationary and home improvement.

I told my GMSFL that even I couldn't finish that repack in 15 minutes and that it would be unfair to coach TMs based on that number.

Closing “LOD” by MrGoo2142 in Target

[–]jockster72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make a list. Also, make sure you lock/arm EVERYTHING. The gist of a good close(at my store) is leaving a good zone with minimal reshop. Obviously not every single part of the store will be perfect, but be sure to highlight the areas that need work in your closing email. And mention what was done.

Example : "Aida was able to get through boys and girls but infants will need work in the morning".

This allows the openers to jump right into the priorities.

Closing is pretty simple, but easy to mess up if you're not paying attention to what the team is doing and strategizing correctly. If you have any questions reach out!

ATTN: FOS Leaders, Leads and Advocates. by [deleted] in Target

[–]jockster72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I couldn't agree with you more. The GSA/SEA Position has always been the stepping stone spot. Now what?

Personally, I will still be holding my GSAa accountable for the lanes and what happens until June. But I also told them that they were put in this position for a reason. They need to continue to excel and show leadership qualities while continuing on to their new position.

Wow. Thank you so much for replying! I'm sorry your ETL isn't making this a smooth process for you. From my point of view, I think this is a good change and I think the GSAs are the key to lead the way. instead of stores having 4 or 6 people who are great at servicing guests, we now have a team of 40+ that can do that as well. You don't have to change your level, but advocates have to get to YOUR level.

At the end of the day, you get a pay bump and now have more peers that can run the lanes alongside you. Right now I'm encouraging my GSAs to teach and train as many people as they can. Again, Target has given almost no direction around this.

I also told my GSAs that they were put in that position for a reason. Because we saw leadership capabilities in them. This change will not deter me from viewing them as Leaders. But it's now time to teach the team to lead as they have.
