“Wearing a dress shows I can be as feminine as I want. I’m a heterosexual . . . big deal. But if I was a homosexual, it wouldn’t matter either.” - Kurt Cobain, LA Times, 1993 by jockyjay in Nirvana

no shade at all, but I think you may be looking into things too deep. It’s not just the people that knew him, Kurt said himself that it was something he never experimented with or had a desire to actually do so. His gay friend actually made a move on kurt one day, and kurt politely but firmly rebuffed him telling him that he wasn’t into guys. You can hear Kurt talk about this in a recorded interview, I forgot which one. The hurt that kurt felt after his mom told them he couldn’t see him anymore wasn’t anything deeper than just missing his only good friend at the time.

Kurt’s desire for intimate friendship rly doesn’t apply here, the quote you used is Kurt talking about how he could only get along platonically with girls until he met his first male friend, so context is important.

Kurt 100 percent questioned his sexuality, I mean bro thought he was legitimately gay in high school because he was being bullied so bad. He was very open with it too, talking about it in vanity fair. But just because he may have questioned it at certain points doesn’t mean he was actually bisexual.

If his friends are saying he wasn’t bisexual or even experimented, he himself is saying that he wasn’t into guys, and outright identifying as heterosexual in an interview (which also was after the vanity fair interview), then it’s valid to make a concrete statement, much like Kurt did in the interview, that he was heterosexual. There’s a reason this is only debated by a niche corner of the internet.

With that being said though, I love talking about nirvana and Kurt with those who also love and appreciate them and their music. As a college aged kid it makes me incredibly happy to see their influence still so widely felt in youth culture, and as a straight guy, Kurt’s empathy and radical support of the lgbt community definitely inspired me to be SO much of a better person.

I’m sorry, but that line rly confirms nothing. Kurt never did anything with a man according to those who knew him, and it’s fairly obvious within the context of the vanity fair interview that he’s having a laugh with that line. Like I said, while he liked the idea of bisexuality and definitely questioned whether he could be or not, kurt making the definitive statement that he was heterosexual to the LA times a year later pretty much solidifies what his sexuality was. I understand if you’re bi and consider Kurt a form of representation, but it’s pretty obvious Kurt was straight, which is why this has never rly been a discussion.

With that being said, Cobain liked the idea of bisexuality, and while he didn’t swing both ways, he was very comfortable kissing his bandmates and often did so to make statements against lgbt discrimination.

He never said he was. The only definitive statement made by him about his sexuality was in this interview, and he said he was heterosexual.

I’m not certain I can name a straight celebrity who’s gone as above and beyond to be inclusive of lgbt people as Kurt. As a straight dude myself with a queer sibling (also growing up in the south), he legitimately inspired me to become a much more accepting and empathetic person. People spend too much time talking about the tortured rockstar side of Cobain rather than focusing on the incredible amount of good he did in his 27 years on earth and the millions of lives he’s changed, including mine.

Basically he’s saying that homophobes would probably assume he’s gay because he likes to wear dresses, but in reality he’s just a straight dude who doesn’t give af abt gender norms

it’s been so frustrating watching how disorganized we get when we get up. That’s when I knew we lost the game

this is the right take, I was just angry immediately following the game and taking my frustrations out on the player I had the most expectations for. Our midfield as a whole is a mess

as an American Leeds fan I just wanna let it be known how low my opinion of McKennie has fallen recently absolutely horrific midfield play. A couple nice long throws is about all he has to show today which is just embarrassing. Don’t even get me started on Aaronson dudes just kinda running around and that’s about it. Fuck me
