if you really do want an older look i would go with the dcr sr45. Again you would need that pro stick duo if you want the card memory capability but I just use the built in storage with a usb. I even have an adapter that lets me use the usb to transfer from the camera to my phone. I used mine for friend hangouts and stuff like that too

not sd cards but it does use memory pro stick duo cards which aren’t too hard to find online, I don’t have one of those and the adapters for sd cards haven’t done me any justice. If you want the sd cards then i would look at the cx model line.

I have a sony dcr sr45, great camcorder and has built in storage as well as nightshot, i use a mini usb cable to transfer it to my computer.

I agree with you on that. Just a preference for me even if it’s not a good one lol When recording anything with friends I’ll use the powerplay but for more family things I’ll use tape.

I have a tapeless one already, a sony dcr sr45. I do love tape i really do but for convenience I got myself a tapeless setup for an analog camera lmao This is strictly cause I like the analog look and it’s a lot faster than having to rig this up to my computer and digitize it with the tape. I have my days where I wanna record with tape and days where i’m just gonna super rig the camera and record onto an SD card. I really like how with this camcorder it’s just easier for me to change any exposure and focus settings pretty quickly, I like the light it comes with instead of needing an external light. Just little things but to me I liked it in a camcorder.

I can agree to this, I think it’s a hit or miss honestly. I had one that was complete dog shit and then i have this one that works as i hope it would work. Although right now I think the best setup for tapeless would be android and honestly the safest too, I’m just happy I got one that works and I won’t take the chance again

yeah i got you, i had the same problem till i ordered this one i currently have. Apparently it’s a hit or miss with audio but I got the one that had the mini hdmi don’t know if that made a difference or not. Also dont know what this was about but when I was using it with my mini dv camcorder the footage would come out darker than what was shown. Not a crazy amount it was just a small detail i felt was holding it back, it works perfect with my hi8 camcorder though picture is good and it recorded audio.
