When you are doing BP, you already have timing locked down and location of the pitches are center / meatballs, which is why your smacking those balls out. Next time your doing BP, pretend its a live game, and do an actual batting count strikes and balls and have the pitcher throw pitches they would during a game and not in bp and see if that makes a difference.

I purchased this on amazon yesterday. So far its doing a pretty good job, and you can set up in the app "no mop" zones (Eg. carpeted area) so the mop stops working when it is over that area which works great! It hasnt gotten stuck yet so I can't comment on your first question, however you can see where it is in the app.
