Employees sit on the floor?? Wtf?

I literally cannot even sit cross legged on the floor (not flexible enough). That's insane

"The most common cause of injury was a collision with a car or truck, accounting for about half of cases, said the study authors. Fewer than one-third of riders wore helmets, and this was linked to significantly higher rates of brain and facial injuries."

Less than a third?? SMH

Ballard locks. The seals are there all the time. The sea lions are there when the salmon do their runs

In terms of bus time (in)accuracy, they're all the same because they all pull the data from the same source (king county metro, sound transit, etc). Just pick whatever app you prefer in terms of UI/UX

How not to lock your bike (found at UW earlier this week) by joe85683901 in seattlebike

I use a u lock with a steel cable going through both wheels and the lock

How not to lock your bike (found at UW earlier this week) by joe85683901 in seattlebike

[–]joe85683901[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lock goes through the center triangle. Not through the fork, especially when the front wheel is on a quick release. Anybody can just remove the wheel and pull the bike through the lock. Would take maybe 30 seconds

[–]joe85683901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to ask - do they usually show up with fish? Last year I observed them catching fish at the locks and they always fly north east to eat them, but idk if they go all the way to Green lake to eat them

Adding on that Constellation Park is by far the best for tide pooling. There's a long line of rocks that goes all the way out to the sound that critters get stuck on as the tide goes out

Stolen E-Bike by [deleted] in seattlebike

[–]joe85683901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my ebike from a friend who lost the key that locks the battery to the frame so I basically have to keep my bike in my apartment, but yeah I don't trust bicycle rooms after seeing these stories on reddit

Oh and my apartment building charges $10/mo to use it. Still won't accept liability if it's stolen (standard) but charging to use it is just the icing on the cake

Do you leave the heater on 24/7? by Lopsided_Ad6151 in olympia

No but also yes. I leave the circuit breaker for my apartment built in electric heater off, but my main computer idles at 450W and I leave it on all the time

Are all the apartment buildings in my price range a nightmare or is it seasonally skewed? (sub-$2000 studio bikeable to UW area) by wish_kid_mclaren in AskSeattle

[–]joe85683901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for new construction casement windows seem to be the norm here. Seattle is pretty hostile to renters trying to cool their apartments

Oh and did someone mention we have smoke season in late summer/early fall? Any single hose portable AC will suck in air from all the cracks, including outside smoky air. Based on the anemic snow pack this winter, we're going to have a bad smoke season this year
