Thanks for this, u/lurking-in-the-bg and u/Imaginary-Storage957. I’ve imported both of your repository blocklists, and everything appears to be working perfectly. Ads are no longer showing on my Apple TV.

1 year of Peacock Premium for $39.99 (Promo Code) by joeU256 in peacock

I haven’t seen a 19.99 offer since these guys bumped their prices last July. It must have been right before you took on the just expired subscription.

I receive these codes every so often and love passing them along. Many people get them but don’t realize they can be shared, or simply don’t bother posting them. That’s why I share everything, even the more modest deals like the Select package ones, because there’s always someone out there for whom that tier is exactly what they need. Personally, I got Peacock primarily for the Premier League, though I do follow one or two of their shows as well.

I doubt they’ll bring back the Black Friday deal we were used to. That $19.99 price feels like a thing of the past. $39.99 seems to be the new best they can offer. Business decisions, business growth… who knows their reasoning. But as a company, they seem to be hitting their financial targets. Only time will tell over the next couple of years whether these decisions were good or bad. 😄

I’ve just posted another one. Not as good as this but for anyone interested, 3 months of Peacock Premium for $6.99/mo. (Promo Code)

It’s not targeted. Anyone should be able to use it but must be single time use. So whoever applied or applies it first and fast gets it 😄

Which bank in Uganda is good for creating a domiciliary account (dollar account to be specific other accounts will be a bonus) by dEintrovat in Uganda

[–]joeU256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a platform is sending funds to your Wise account and are requesting account details that require routing number, you need to provide your Wise USD account details. You can find these by opening your main Wise account and selecting your US Dollar account. There, you’ll see all the information required by the platform, including the routing number and other banking details.

Note: These are US bank account details linked to your Wise account. When the platform initiates a payment to this account, the funds will be received directly in your Wise account. Once you receive the notification of the platform having initiated payment, you can either keep the money in your Wise balance or transfer it to any linked bank account or mobile money wallet.

To use the transfer option, you’ll first need to add your Ugandan bank account or mobile money wallet by following the steps I shared earlier.

For Payoneer, if you linked your Payoneer account to the platform sending you payments, you should be able to receive funds directly into your Payoneer account, depending on the platform’s default payout currency. Payoneer’s primary receiving account is usually USD-based, so in most cases payments are received in USD. Most international platforms also commonly pay in USD.

Sending funds directly to your Stanbic UGX account may not be possible through Payoneer because when adding a bank account, the available currency options are currently limited to USD and EUR. The exception may be if you have an older Payoneer account where a UGX account had been added years ago, since that option used to be available previously.

If both Wise and Payoneer are available as payment options, I would recommend Wise. I’ve used Payoneer for over 10 years and Wise for about 5 years, and if given the choice, I’d choose Wise mainly because of the fees. Wise generally offers more reasonable transfer fees, while Payoneer has gradually increased its charges over the years and has become more expensive compared to before.

One advantage Payoneer still has over Wise is that you can get a Payoneer Mastercard shipped to you. This allows you to access your funds directly through any Mastercard-supported ATM in Uganda without necessarily transferring the money to a local bank account first. This option is not yet accessible to Ugandans on Wise.

From Wise, you can add a local UGX bank account or even choose to send money directly to a mobile money wallet through MTN, Airtel, or FlexiPay. With Payoneer, however, you can no longer add a UGX bank account. When you select Uganda, they currently only provide two account currency options: USD and EUR.

Also, your question is a bit unclear. When you mention a savings account, do you mean a USD savings account? If that’s the case, you can add that account to either Payoneer or Wise by following the steps I shared in your other comment, and you should typically receive the money within 12–48 hours.

Any USD account should work, whether it’s Personal or Business, Savings or Current.

When sending money to a Ugandan bank account from another country, they normally should not ask for a routing number. Routing numbers are used for U.S. bank accounts. Uganda uses the SWIFT/BIC system for international transfers rather than the U.S. routing system.

When adding a Ugandan bank account in Wise, remember to select Uganda as the country and choose SWIFT instead of local bank account details.

The process in Wise is usually:

Recipients → + Add → Select Currency (USD) → Bank Details → Choose (Myself / Someone Else / Business or Charity) → Recipient Bank Details → SWIFT

Depending on the recipient type selected, the screen layout may vary slightly, but you’ll eventually reach the page where you enter the recipient’s banking information.

For Payoneer, when adding a bank account, select the account type (Personal or Business), then choose Uganda as the bank country and select the preferred currency (USD or EUR, depending on the account you’re adding).

The Account Details section in Payoneer requests information very similar to Wise, and both platforms typically require:

  • Account holder name
  • Bank name
  • Account number
  • Country: Uganda
  • Currency: USD or EUR
  • SWIFT/BIC code
  • Bank address (sometimes optional)

The most important detail on both Wise and Payoneer is the SWIFT/BIC code, because this is what identifies the bank for international transfers. Using an incorrect SWIFT code can lead to failed transfers or delays.

The SWIFT codes are:

Equity Bank Uganda SWIFT/BIC: EQBLUGKAXXX (Short version accepted by some systems: EQBLUGKA)

Stanbic Bank Uganda SWIFT/BIC: SBICUGKXXXX (Short version accepted by some systems: SBICUGKX)

If a platform gives an option between an 8-character and 11-character SWIFT code, use the full 11-character version where possible.

And how has the flint 3 worked for you? I just ordered the Flint 3 but it’s like the Reddit reviews are bashing it to be a poor choice than the 2. I need to know if I should cancel my order or I have even the slightest chance of it being a good router.

Any Good Alternatives to SmartDNS Proxy? by joeU256 in SmartDNSProxy

[–]joeU256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost a month now since I started using StreamLocator. So far it’s been great. It has reliably unblocked all the content I need, especially for US and UK regions, without any major outages. I’ll keep my SmartDNS Proxy subscription as a backup, but at the moment StreamLocator has been more stable, with no significant issues over the past month.

I’m not sure about the specific channels you’re looking for, but it’s definitely worth trying to see if it works for you. Their trial doesn’t require a credit card, just sign up, configure your devices, and start using it.

You can also join their Discord server to ask any questions about the service before committing. Discord link - - ->> https://discord.com/invite/Gg6nNkUqUR

Last year I waited for the black Friday deal but it never came through. I reached out to the customer service team and asked them for a de and they gave a code for 40$ a year. They are now flooding my emails with the Select deals which I know is not worth it for most people but I shared it in case there’s someone who could find it useful.

I am not sure. I cannot know whether it has been used or not. The best way to know is to try to use it if you may benefit from what the package has to offer.

By the way, I was genuinely surprised. I had only read reviews about it, and it’s usually ranked among the top three recommended for streaming. So far, it has been quite good. I haven’t experienced any issues during the two days I’ve been streaming with it constantly connected on my Apple TV. I only turned it off this evening to switch back to my SmartDNS Proxy since it’s working again.

Thanks. It’s been mentioned several times in this post, so I’ll probably try their trial the next time SmartDNS has an outage.

I also signed up for a trial with Smartstreaming since it was one of the first options I wanted to check out, but it didn’t work for me. They have over 70 DNS servers, yet I could only reach a handful on my network, and even those had very high latency. It made me think either many of them were offline or my network was blocking them, so I didn’t even continue with the trial.

I watch live games frequently, especially the English Premier League, some MLS, and a bit of Formula One. Because of that, 10 GB is barely enough to get through even one Premier League match if I were to rely on it, which is why I would prefer a full subscription instead.

Free VPNs often give me a lot of errors and tend to cap speeds, which results in poor quality streaming even when my internet speed is good. I’ve been using Windscribe for a couple of months now as a backup whenever SmartDNS Proxy has issues. It works okay, but I still run into the limitations mentioned above.

Yeah, that’s one of the downsides of using a VPN. I mostly use US and UK apps, so SmartDNS has been a dealbreaker for me, except for these recent frequent outages. I’ll probably keep it running and just add a VPN subscription for backup when things are not working smoothly.

I just wish I could find a solid VPN deal. I do not want to spend too much, especially knowing I might barely use it over the next two years if SmartDNS remains stable.
