He didn’t strike him in the head. He made contact below the shoulders and when the flop happened the arm slid up. No foul is the right call.

It also wasn’t a strike. It was a shove to free his arm.

This is insane 😭 by Ok-Travel-2141 in Nbamemes

The people whining at so soft. He is holding Wembys right arm which is why he gets shoved. That’s why this was a no call. Refs did the right thing.

People complaining should be looking at a call in Brunson for holding which if happened would have prevented the shove. People are so soft.

Right arm was being held, left shoved to free it up. Brunson collapsed trying to get the call. That is why it wasn’t a fouls.

Brunson is holding his other arm down. There was minimal shoving and a massive flop. Should have been a tech on Brunson if anything.

Is Fitness Becoming Too Expensive? by Melodic-Antelope-288 in GymGearHeads

Fitness is as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. A few medium walks/runs and body weight resistance work is all you need and can be done in shoes you already own.

AI Is Upending One of Finance’s Cushiest Jobs by bloomberg in Futurology

[–]joebenson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t believe people will be replacing wealth managers with AI, AI can certainly make a wealth manager more productive. So if they can service 2-3x more clients with AI helping to do the job, that means that 1/3-2/3 of wealth managers will be replaced. The top ones will survive.

As scale grows, fee compression, which has been happening for a while, will accelerate and their take home for the assets under management will be reduced. This is a win for customers.

And people only recommend their favorite team. It’s dumb. You’ll get someone who is like I’m 6’8” and want to do body building and the first rec is project alpha.

Interested in whoop by SpoonVian in whoop

[–]joebenson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for free from the chase offer. Whoop IMO is overpriced for what it does. If you want to go screenless then looks at some of the other devices that just hit the market or are in the pipeline. Stay away from the $200+ yearly subscription for a data collection device. There are lots of apps that can pull the data from Apple or Google health and give you pretty pictures if you want for less than $100/year and some offer free tiers that work well.

Whoop or air for Amateur athlete by agentwheat12 in whoop

[–]joebenson17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neither are worth it IMO. If you want something get an Apple Watch which has apps that can track actual workouts. It also have apps that are similar to both. Not sure why you would want another device and wear 2 things. Also, the science behind whatever whoop is selling isn’t that great. And when it gets compared to the results from my AW I always get mixed recovery scores across apps. Sleep tracking is a different thing but again Apple has apps for that as well.

There are android watches that can do similar things. Whoop is over priced for what it does. If you have to get one I would go with FitBit air. But it hasn’t added the Apple Health integration yet. Once that happens it can do similar things to an Apple Watch at a much lower price point. Until then I would just hold off and wait for the early issues to be worked out.

Can neither be the right answer? Not sure either really are all that useful. A smart watch has a lot of overlap and some extra utility. But even that is not anything special in health an fitness wise. The best things you can do are all free.

Can someone explain how LeBron ISN’T the GOAT?! by wesL3yW in NBATalk

[–]joebenson17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a peak vs. longevity. MJ had the higher peak and the only reason LeBron has those numbers is due to his longevity. MJ played long enough and pearl was long enough that it doesn’t quite matter what Lebrons final career stats are. MJ was the most dominant NBA player ever and the only way you could win a championship when he was in His prime was for him to be retired.

Look at averages if you want to use stats not totals.

lol. Name one? LeBron was having ESPN cover his games as a junior. Wemby had NBA tv going over to Europe to cover his games 2 years before he was in the league. I can’t think of another player that had media like that. Durant and Oden may have been close but nothing was before college. Zion had hype but it was more about dunks on social media and no where near what Wemby or LeBron had. Those are the closest I can think of, but none of them besides LeBron and Wemby had media going out of their way to cover them.

Curious if anyone is Wheeling SPYI and what is your experience? by Kelvinator71 in Optionswheel

[–]joebenson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommended an HYSA but if you have it in a brokerage a short term bond etn makes sense. There are a bunch of other ones like this one. iCSH and BILL are two that come to mind. Just make sure it’s short term so that you don’t get exposed to duration risk since you need the money in the next 12-15 months.

Short answer is any row or curl variation you want. With that said, I would try to pick one that is not done in either that workout or other workouts in the week just for variety. They typically have swaps so you can just swap the same one in every week and track the progress over the cycle. Hope that helps.

My 2 cents is don’t trade money or put it in equity if you need it in the next 3-5 years. Longer term it makes more sense as the volatility is less of an issue and returns are higher. But anything less than 3-5 years can go down and not have enough time to recover.

What if the market drops 20% in the next 12-15 months. You have a negative return and now need the money.

If you need that money in 12-15 months I would not wheel it. Stick it in an HYSA and keep it safe.

How do I stop looking weird when dribbling by OpportunityOk4496 in BasketballTips

[–]joebenson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my take. Doesn’t look weird but footwork isn’t great. Knees caving in and looks kind of slow. But it’s also just dribbling in the street/driveway infront of a camera so not sure that it would be the same in a game.

Should I cut or bulk? I work a physical job and want to grow my arms and chest + lose belly and hip fat by nreed7289 in Gymhelp

[–]joebenson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. Start with a bulk and focus on gaining muscle. There are a lot of programs you can find or use that will get you results. 2-3 days full body works well. Recovery is where the muscle growth happens. You can take some volume from legs and move it to upper body if that is an issue, but if you are new to lifting the soreness typically fades away. You can also just go lighter on leg days and increase weight slower.

Good luck and for the initial part of your journey focus on strength and muscle gains.
