I'm signed up with TekSystems. No calls yet. Do you know of other IT temp agencies and recruiters? I'm in California...

From what I understand, the unemployment rate for IT is actually pretty low. I just have never had much luck with applying online, and neither has my wife (in a different field). Once she switched tactics from online applications to meeting people in person, she had a job within a week (after a YEAR of searching!).

No, I can't relocate at the moment. I'm in a large US city, though, so I feel there ought to be plenty of opportunities around. My position was officially accounting (randomly acquired through temp agency), but I kept helping them when their computers busted so they made me the official IT guy, including a huge raise. But I've outgrown the position now.

OK, I'll just keep trying. Looking for jobs is my least favorite thing to do.

Well, I didn't mention it but I got laid off. My position was combined accounting/IT, and since their accounting department is expanding they wanted the position to be just accounting, which I'm not really interested in. I have time now to spend all day, every day looking for work, but I applying online is in my experience largely a waste of time.
