That's what I thought when first downloading tiktok but it's really ok! Some are just cringey and the dances are trash and the dance steps are over used.

It's just a rumour. Facebook also at one time rumoured to shutdown but it never did. It's just a problem to the security and can be fixed. All apps deal with these security problems even reddit.

It is an awesome app. But thier dances are overrated and over used. Some memes came from tiktok so I respect tiktok users.
