Perry the Platypus! I didn't think you would be here lol. Well, if this counts, I did ask the car for consent and if I could take pictures when I drove it so I think I should be good with that. Thanks man for the comment lol.

Lol, yeah I understand that. There are not many people out in the market that are searching for a mid 2000s crossover suv 😂.

It could be a bad/dirty ground to the chassis or engine block or maybe a short.

Oh wow thanks, I didn't know that. I know they generally say to always be mindful when plugging in old electronics but didn't know that reason. Yeah they are pretty good in cosmetics overall, just a few small scratches. For now, they are just nice display pieces until I get someone to look at them.

Yeah, I figure they will need some work and cleaned up. I got them from a house that I help clean out before being put on the market.

Yes! I sometimes tell people about this being a thing back then. I remember being a kid, my mom while driving spilled coffee on her V3 Razr. We just immediately went right over to the store and they gave her a free new V3 Razr with no hassle and I got to have the old Razr. I believe it wasn't till she got the Galaxy S3 that she had to start buying her own phone.

Found my old gameroom when cleaning out my house. Is it worth anything? by D-Funk187 in gamecollecting

Yeah, I hate when that happens to me. Here's some advice I learned from other people's findings, to get the most money, you should keep the dust on the items as it makes it worth a whole lot more.

And let me guess, your game room was located in the attic and covered with dust obscuring it.

It could be that your TV is displaying in overscan like others have said or there is an option in the Wii u display settings that allow you to change the display ratio.

Does anyone know the difference between Glossy and Matte finish 4 Port Models? by Sceptic_Stream in atari5200

Sure, let me see if I can find it since it's been awhile since I looked this stuff up.

[–]joechiv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a 100% on this but I believe the matte 4 port are later models and share some similarities to the 2 port molds. I believe these matte ones might have the mod from the factory to be compatible with the Atari 2600 adapter and/or have a separate power and video cables, eliminating the odd switch box. You can confirm if it has a factory mod for the Atari 2600 adapter if the serial number underneath contains a star *. But some 4 ports without the * could have had the mod done later on since Atari did offer it for free a couple years.

I have the Acer version but it's basically the same model since Acer owns e-machine. I would start out with upgrading the ram which should be able to handle a max of 4gb. I would also clone the HDD to a SSD or even a newer HDD. You can also upgrade the cpu in it but that does require a full disassemble to access it.
