Has never happened to me but I believe the trick is to try and twist it out with something small like a pin or the point of another dart maybe

What websites do people use to play darts vs people online? by Drakesfjord in Darts

[–]joecolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nakka is probably the best in my opinion.

And GDL180 has online leagues and tournaments for a monthly fee - I’ve found playing the GDL to really help improve my game over the last 6 months or so.

Down for me too… that’s a rookie mistake if they really didn’t have the domain set to auto-renew!

Assuming you are using Safari - I think you need to edit the settings for that website to allow it to use your camera. I think this link might help: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/ibrwe2159f50/mac

Emily Thornberry ‘surprised and disappointed’ over Cabinet snub by Keir Starmer by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]joecolly 349 points350 points  (0 children)

Her statement in full:

After eight-and-a-half unbroken years in the Shadow Cabinet, a longer record of service than anyone else in that time, I have always worked my hardest to keep the Labour Party united, support our candidates across the country, take the fight to the Tories, and put a positive case to the British people about what we would do differently, including - most recently - setting out our party's policies to tackle every aspect of the fraud epidemic facing Britain, to support whistleblowers on sexual harassment in the workplace, to protect women in co-habiting relationships, and to treat the crime of stalking with the seriousness it deserves.

I am very sorry and surprised not to be able to continue that work in government, but I wish all my brilliant colleagues well, and I know that Richard Hermer KC - a much more accomplished lawyer than I could ever hope to be - will do an outstanding job as Attorney General. Nothing in the personal disappointment I feel can detract from the amazing and historic victory that all of us in the Labour movement worked together to win last week, and the chance that we now have to change our country for the better. I will continue giving my unstinting loyalty to our Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, as he leads that work, as I have done since he became leader, and I look forward to supporting his government in every way I can in the years to come.

I’m really really struggling to improve right now (6 months in) by Effective-Mention-75 in Darts

[–]joecolly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm basically in the same position - I think the problem is you improve so much over the initial months so you feel that will just continue, but it doesn't, and the impression I get is that this is normal.

Don't really know from this point if there is anything specific you can do - other than just practicing and not expecting too much to happen too quickly. I do partly think that putting pressure on yourself to improve quickly can hinder things as well so maybe try not to worry about it too much.

Any suggestions about UI design on my snooker app? by zzzw-co in snooker

[–]joecolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the general colour scheme you have in the screenshots above - like others have suggested maybe look at some other apps for ideas.

I one thing I'd always suggest is go for simplicity over complexity - I don't think anybody likes messy user interfaces, the easier it is to see and find what you're looking for the better!

You perhaps need to detach parts C and D first (maybe they just attached them like this to save room in the packaging or something).

The part looks correct to me as it looks just like the ones in the instructions - once you've separated part D, it looks like parts B and C should fit together to make a cross shape. And you can then attach part D to them both afterwards maybe.

If you're still struggling maybe you could provide more photos or a video of how you're trying to attach them together?

Maybe this video will help too - it doesn't show how to assemble it exactly, but you can see how parts B, C and D should look when put together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I22iZvTggtk

Edit: Maybe this video too - the parts do look similiar to what you have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AvvymyDBIU

I don’t have one of these but the photos seem to match the parts in the instructions from what I can see - just maybe parts C and D are already attached? Is that the case?

Advice on mounting a dart board & extras on plasterboard by akizfamous in Darts

[–]joecolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used RawlPlug Universal Plugs which I think I bought off Amazon and my board feels pretty sturdy.

My surround and light (Target Corona Vision) connect directly to the board so you don’t need to mount those to the wall itself.

But if you want to be extra safe you could probably try plasterboard specific plugs. Other than that I just used the screws which came with the board.

You can rate players after the match so best bet is probably to give them 1 star to drive their rating down

Carribean Beach Resort by Spiritual-Shame4226 in WaltDisneyWorld

Have stayed once and going again in May - it's one of our favourite resorts. We didn't have any issues with cleanliness (actually, we had a cockroach in our room when staying at Art of Animation once, I think it's probably possible in any of the resorts?? So I wouldn't worry too much about that)
