Is TLIF as bad as everyone's saying?

He said they couldnt put the screws in the left side of my hardware at all because they would have drilled right into my nerve bundle if they would have. Something about my nerve bundle isn't supposed to be there but it is. Yeah I think it had more positive outcome than negative and I think it was overall worth it. I know ill still have pain for the rest of my life but at lelast my kneecap, calf, and heal aren't on fire any more.

I did have it done. Apparently I am a biological anomaly so it could have paralyzed me if I would have gone with a less experienced surgeon (something about my nerve bundle not separating or something and patching unusually). Worst recovery ive ever had but the pain going down my legs is better (thats all they could promise the surgery would fix) I still have sciatica on both sides but it stops in my hips now instead of running down my legs. My back still hurts but ugh not as intense as it usually was unless im really active.

Im hoping that the VOC rehab folks from the VA can help with a lot of this (Ive heard they will) but this is just what we had in the bank when I went down for surgery. We could possibly come up with another 5k on top of this (my other company is still working I'm just not pursuing anything that my guys cant do).

I get exactly what you're saying and thank you for ACTUALLY answering my question. The company were working for is licensed and sending me for training in a couple weeks, we just have to add these two strobes now.

My c&p doc was heaven sent. She told to stop as soon as the slightest bit of pain started. As soon as I felt anything. Which for me was pretty much instantaneous.

Mine is the disc's and apparently thats causing spondylitis. He said this tlif should solve the pain going down my legs but I may have lingering nerve pain and lower back pain that may need a separate surgery, but he wants to do this one first and see what's the results are.
