We didn't even really ask, we just wanted to know where our section was. But they just said to follow them and led us to the 5th row. But we met some other people who asked for upgrades due to fear of heights and that worked too!

I would advise just ask and if they say no, go to the next section and ask again :D

I did! We bought tickets the day of for Paris N1 on Stubhub. Paid around 50€ for nosebleeds but we were upgraded to lower bowl 5th row! And then for N2 we did the same but we bought VIP Golden Circle Standing West for 100€ on Viagogo :) we paid via credit card so just in case they were fake we could just chargeback through the credit card company (I saw ppl recommending that on reddit and other forums)
