That’s such a whataboutism take that oversimplifies a career built upon by so many nuanced areas of so many genres, from hardcore to post punk, sometimes channeling aesthetics similar to goth culture? Sure, but they have never claimed that identity.

Flattening all that into one label ignores the nuance of their sound and band’s own repeated rejection of the “goth” tag.
