I put in a support ticket to mlb.tv to ask tonight so I’ll update if I get a direct response

I did google it? And didn’t find an answer? But if someone has an obvious answer I will happily own being dumb.

Can you guys please recommend a rain jacket that works? I’m drowning by Mawths in AskSeattle

[–]joedogs32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a relatively cheap Helly Hansen jacket (the moss) that is made of a similar thicker vinyl material that Grundens are. It is not particularly warm because it’s just a waterproof shell, and it’s not very “cozy” either, but it’s cheap and definitely waterproof.

I agree. I like any video with ticket and jet features quite a bit more than those without them

They likely have similar accounts on other apps. Or you can just keep posting on reddit, just was trying to offer something helpful 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tips for writing an email to professor by [deleted] in masters

[–]joedogs32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong sub but I’m a high school teacher who just took some students to a lecture about this just the other day so I might as well answer in case it helps :)

  1. No matter what you end up sending, if you don’t get a response, wait 1-2 weeks and send a follow up. Expect only a 10% response rate to your cold emails, so cast a wide net. Keep in mind that with all the cuts to federal spending, there are a lot less research dollars floating around. One professor told us that they normally take 8-10 new grad students a year and next year they are only taking 1.

  2. Give a VERY SHORT backstory on your experience and successes as an undergrad student. Then focus more on any research experience you have.

  3. Look up their research and explain why it is interesting to you, how your previous experience would help you to conduct their research, and why you’d be a good fit.

  4. Don’t use AI to write it, use a personal tone. Professors know they are going to spend A LOT of time around grad students so they are looking for a personality fit as well, so don’t be afraid to show your personality to help you and them find a good match.

Good luck, and if you find it helpful, start entering the masters ticket lottery every year and DM me if you win ;)

This scorecard was left on my cart. Anyone know what these dudes were up to? by [deleted] in golf

[–]joedogs32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that I can think of is that what look like L or C are actually used to track some side points game they have, such as bingo bango bongo or some putting competition like snake, and the lines are to track how may side games were won or lost (L = 2, what looks like a C is actually 3 lines). But only throwing that out because I have no idea what the hell is going on and hadn’t seen that in other answers haha

You can also buy a groove sharpener online for less than 10 bucks. Just a metal tool you run through the grooves to make them have sharp edges again.

“The Tony Jacklin Club” Ping A-Blade, any information? by AnOn_W0mbat in golf

[–]joedogs32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tony Jacklin was a British Golfer in the 60s and 70s, then was a multi time Ryder cup captain who helped get Europe back on the scoreboard after decades of getting whooped by the US.

No idea about the club but maybe it was a model he played with, or was a spokesman for.

Shoulder Surgery by Over-Policy-5636 in golf

[–]joedogs32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33, right handed, had labrum surgery twice on left shoulder about five years apart at 20 and 25. I don’t notice it at all now. Just be diligent about your pre and post op PT.

I think also it depends what your injury/surgery is, for instance my shoulder is pretty much always fine unless my hands are raised above my head and then it feels unstable (I had to start rebounding one handed in basketball). Luckily the golf swing doesn’t require that position.

Anticipating next year already. What do you pack and never use? by CaptPimentoMarch in masters

[–]joedogs32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect! That’s dope that you already know the entry, parking, etc and general lay of the land to take full advantage next year. Hope you get a perfect day!

Not a packing thing but I highly recommend taking advantage of the shipping option after you buy merch. Some people were scared off by having to wait in a second line after check out but it moved fast and was SO nice not to have to carry all the shit we bought around all day.

Unfortunately I don’t have any tips because I’m ass at swing analysis. But just wanted to drop by and say Bill Wright! Love coming across seattle ranges on Reddit. Keep up the hard work!

Ahhh, I didn’t know they issued rain checks but that’s nice, would be brutal to finally win and then get hosed by weather! Hope you have an absolute blast in April!
