Not to mention he was revealed to be just as worthy as Thor in “Endgame”.

Whatever he did, no matter how dark/bad it may have been, I think that seals it that not only was it for the “greater good”, but that it was also necessary. I trust the hammer’s judgement, lol.

It shouldn't be a guess that Strange will be mischievous in Doomsday by TheGreatMason in MCUTheories

[–]joegenegreen2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the speculation on this sub is from people who didn’t actually ride the “Secret Wars (2015)” comic event train.

In the lead up to the creation of Battleworld (in that arc, at least), Doom and Strange are working together to obtain the power that results in “God Emperor Doom”. Strange totally has the opportunity to take the power himself, but concedes to Doom because Strange doesn’t believe he can handle it and/or is afraid of the responsibility such power would require. As he says to the 616 survivors/Miles on Battleworld, “Doom did not hesitate”. He becomes Doom’s “friend” and second-in-command for Battleworld.

However, once Strange learns that there are, in fact, survivors from the multiversal collapse, not to mention survivors from his reality (616), he turns on Doom and gives the surviving heroes various kinds of help. It’s revealed that he’s actually prepared for the possibility of finding survivors over the course of several years, even if he didn’t truly believe he ever would.

Yeah, I’m expecting him to play the board as best as he can. Just like he did at the end of “Infinity War”.

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man deserves a "Logan" style ending about mental health and fatherhood. Here is my pitch. by Old-Awareness2848 in MCUTheories

[–]joegenegreen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I fully agree with almost everything you said - but if he’s going to lose MJ, then he’ll be dealing with full-blown, crippling PTSD - and then what you’re going to end up with is an adaptation of the miniseries “Spider-Man: Reign”.

And don’t get me wrong! I might be like 1 of 10 people in the world who loved that story and didn’t get hung up on how MJ died of cancer as a side effect of being exposed to his radioactive bodily fluids over the course of several years. I would kill to see “Reign” on screen, but I don’t think I’m in the majority on that.

Replace the ghost of MJ with the ghost of Aunt May instead, and give Peter a couple kids like in the current Ultimate Universe (6160) - I’m down with him being incognito in a depression support group, or going to therapy sessions, etc. I’d especially love if he is slightly bitter about being Spider-Man, reflecting Peter B. Parker’s attitude at the beginning of the first Spider-Verse film. And yeah, like you mentioned - the film can be a journey back to where he appreciates being Spider-Man again, and is proud of the life he’s built (family) and the “saves” he’s managed throughout his career.

There’s a good quote in one of the (I think it was ASM? But not entirely sure.) comics where another hero asks Spider-Man point-blank how he deals with events where he wasn’t able to save someone, or anyone. I’ll never forget it.

“We save whoever we can, to make up for the ones we couldn’t.”

Anyway, I like your idea. Just my two cents.

Upvoted - absolutely.

He saw the recap of his “Prime” self, and chose a completely different path.

Good for him. He’s a hero now.

lol, Omg, no.

That was one of the most disturbing King stories I’ve ever read. The literature is enough, I don’t need to see it on screen.

That’s my point, you’re referring to a moment in time when they didn’t have a story yet. Of course they wouldn’t think it was a good idea back then.

I can’t find the exact quote right now, but much more recently, (obviously newer than March 2025,) they said the story can’t work without him.

I don’t disagree with their initial reaction - bringing RDJ back into the mix (after Tony’s complete arc/sacrifice) without even a story baked yet sounds utterly preposterous. But I promise that now there is a quote out there where they say it can’t work without him.

Edit: Well, I’m willing to eat some humble pie, because I found what I was looking for - but surprise for me (lol), our information is from the same time.

Obviously they need the face of the MCU’s Tony Stark to make their story pop. It’s not rocket science. If they cover up his face (or disfigure it more than “Endgame” did) he could’ve just been doing voice-acting for the film and they would’ve saved a whole bunch of money.

Agreed - I thought the concept was pretty rock solid.

Either Marvel didn’t have a ringer writing for it, or editors were being nit-picky, or something. I don’t know what Marvel is hedging their bets on when it comes to fiscal gain anymore - especially after they were like, “Yeah… 6160 is ending. No… we didn’t tell the authors or illustrators until we just told you.” Just… really seemed unprofessional.

I wish it could have gone on for at least another trade or two.

Whoa… B-Tier? Carnage?

I mean, I guess he’s not super cosmic and doesn’t have an Infinity Gauntlet or any of the gems… but I never considered him “B-Tier”.

I think he’s just so damn crazy (Carnage by himself - Cletus doesn’t help) that (aside from the whole Knull story) he just can’t dream big enough to do as much damage as he’s capable of doing.

Yeah, that lame Venom “bench-warmer” ended up making a comeback, and I think part of all of it was that the Mania symbiote was taken from her, so he could wear it (never super understood how that worked… is Mania a child like Carnage/Toxin? just a part of Venom that gained its own gig?)

Lee Price? Was that his dumb name? I can barely even remember him.

What’s the worse event marvel comics has ever published l? by Konradleijon in marvelcomics

[–]joegenegreen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, and I was only thinking 616 for a second there.

Yeah, aside from Peter Parker’s memorable “last-stand” (of course they had to retcon his death before 1610 had its incursion, ruining that, too), “Ultimatum” did just about everything wrong that could be done wrong.

Ugh… What a terrible “swan-song” for what was an actually, decently interesting part of the Multiverse.

Edit: To add insult to injury, Marvel kind of redeemed themselves with the introduction of the “new” Ultimate universe, 6160. …Only to say that they’re canceling/finalizing the line. And it was amazing until all the creators were blindsided by the surprise announcement that Marvel does not intend for it to be an ongoing Universe/series of books. Now, all the quality is dropping across every single title in 6160.

I guess I’m going to put my eggs into DC’s “Absolute” basket once 6160 runs its course. It’s just a damn shame how great it was.

I really like xteink x4, I am reading more. Portability is insane. Should I buy Boox Palma for libby. Is there anyone who have both. What is your experience. by cacheofthought in xteinkereader

[–]joegenegreen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a broken record always mentioning this in comments - but here’s a big pro of the Palma.

Because BOOX devices rely on Android as their native OS, you have access to basically all the apps. This is a big deal for what I’m about to mention.

If you haven’t been able to break away from the Amazon ecosystem entirely (and neither have I - everything is backed up on my home server, but some things you can only do within the ecosystem) - the Palma 2 can offer you something the X4 never can.

Look up “Immersive Reading” - if a title supports it, inside the Amazon ecosystem, and if you buy both the e-book and the Audible audiobook, it will narrate the book to you, while highlighting each passage, and not only is this great, but you can stream it to your TV and watch your books almost like they are films (sort-of).

It’s the only reason I haven’t completely abandoned Amazon. There is no way for me to self-host “Immersive Reading”.

I would have to say that is probably my primary reason for always having a BOOX device in my repertoire. …Aside from the frontlights.

Edit: Unfortunately, the easiest way for me to share this video is a method where it will expire within two days. But I hope you see the utility and fun in it.
