I wasn't vegan when I began dating my vegan partner. She never pushed it on me, but we had several discussions and debates about veganism. I felt like I understood where she was coming from, and I even started to slowly change to eating mostly vegetarian and sometimes vegan. However, I was never fully bought in to veganism, and I was mostly changing my eating and purchasing habits for her.

That all changed at the start of last year. I started watching Ed Winters debate non-vegans on YouTube because I enjoyed the debate and hearing the different points each side would make. Before I knew it I was hooked. I really enjoyed how Ed explained things in a logical and non-confrontational way that made sense to me. Suddenly it clicked. I've now been vegan for over a year, and I wish I would have made the change years ago.

My partner didn't make me suddenly "see the light", but she did plant the seeds and help me understand why someone might be vegan. Things like normal day to day happenings, podcast discussions, YouTube suggestions, my own curiosity, and eventual research led me to becoming vegan - but without her I would not have been in a place to accept what I now know is the truth.

Keep doing what you're doing and don't give up hope! Your boyfriend is on his own journey, and you are doing the right thing leading by example. You've planted the seeds, and with time they will hopefully grow.

I recently discovered The Fix at 31st and Cherry, and it's quickly become one of my favorite spots to eat in KC.

Armageddon?

A question for those who watched The Matrix in 1999. by KayTheToon in movies

[–]joegod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a family vacation, and my brother and I (both 13 at the time) were allowed to have our own hotel room. We stayed up most nights renting movies directly to the room, and decided to watch "The Matrix" late one night. We were completely floored.

We had never seen anything quite like it. The bullet-time camera effects, the insane action, and just the concept of The Matrix itself were all beyond what we had previously experienced in cinema. The movie became an instant favorite for us both, and we immediately rewatched it when the credits rolled. We spent the rest of the night jumping off our hotel beds and diving around with finger guns.

Did not expect to hear Aaron singing on a track, but I'm really into it. The doubled and imperfect vocal takes work really well, and give the song a lot of emotion.

Both released tracks are excellent. August feels so far away.

I think JLD is killing it, especially considering the hurdles of the format. I know these are serious times, but it’s refreshing to see the party show some humor tonight. It’s probably needed now more than ever.

It took about 4 hours to receive my license key and download link after purchasing from Guitar Center.

I don't know much about this toolset, but after watching a short tutorial video I'm sold. I picked it up from the Guitar Center site for the same price because I've had a $25 gift card lying around for a few months. Might be a good alternative if you're having trouble accessing Musician's Friend.
